Protecting your health and your identity

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network are committed to you. That’s why we’re working with AllClear ID to offer all eligible* members identity protection services. These services are available to you as long as you remain eligible and you won’t be charged.

You and your dependents have two different types of identity protection available to you.

AllClear Secure identity repair

If you become a victim of identity theft, simply call AllClear ID at 1-855-904-5742 and a dedicated investigator will act as your guide and advocate to help return your identity to its prefraud state. No enrollment required.

AllClear Pro credit monitoring

You can add more protection by enrolling in AllClear Pro credit monitoring at any time by visiting bcbsm.allclearid.com and following the instructions. AllClear Pro includes credit monitoring, a $1 million identity theft insurance policy and child identity protection for eligible members younger than 18.

*Eligibility You and your dependents are eligible for these services if you have Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan or Blue Care Network medical coverage as your primary coverage.

You’re not eligible if Medicare Advantage is your primary coverage or if you’re enrolled only in a stand-alone plan, such as dental, vision, life or long-term care coverage.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere are some answers to questions that are frequently asked about the AllClear ID services available to eligible* Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network members.

OverviewBlue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network are committed to you. That’s why we’re offering all eligible* members and their dependents identity protection services through AllClear ID. These services are available to you as long as you remain eligible and you won’t be charged.

Eligible members have two different services available to them: AllClear Secure identity repair

You and your dependents automatically have AllClear Secure identity repair available to you. This service comes with eligible Blue Cross or BCN medical coverage and there is no need to enroll ahead of time. If you become a victim of identity theft, you can call AllClear ID at 1-855-904-5742 and a dedicated investigator will help you recover financial losses, restore your credit and return your identity to its prefraud state.

AllClear Pro credit monitoring If you also want to add more protection, you can enroll in AllClear Pro credit monitoring. This service offers additional layers of protection, including credit monitoring, a $1 million identity theft insurance policy and ChildScan services for minors. To enroll in AllClear Pro, visit bcbsm.allclearID.com, scroll down to How to Request Additional Protection and follow the instructions.

Why is Medicare Advantage not eligible? Medicare Advantage plans are not eligible due to federal regulations.

Why are dental, vision, life insurance or long-term care coverage not eligible? To be eligible, you must have Blue Cross or BCN medical coverage.

About AllClear IDWho Is AllClear ID? AllClear ID provides products and services that help protect people and their personal information from threats related to identity theft.

Why are identity protection services being provided? Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network want to protect your health and your identity. That’s why we’re offering all eligible members identity protection services through AllClear ID.

Is it safe to share my information with AllClear ID? AllClear ID takes steps to keep your information safe. All information you provide — including passwords and PINs — is stored securely.

Will AllClear ID sell or share my personal information with third parties? No. AllClear ID takes your privacy very seriously. They do not sell, rent or share your personal information with any third party for marketing purposes. See their Privacy Policy to learn more at allclearid.com/legal/privacy-policy.

AllClear ID ServicesWhat is AllClear Secure? AllClear Secure provides identity repair assistance to help fix identity theft issues and return your information to its proper condition. If there’s a potential problem with your credit or you’re concerned about identity theft, just call AllClear ID at any point while you’re an eligible Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan or Blue Care Network member at 1-855-904-5742. The investigator will help you determine if there is a problem and help you recover financial losses, restore your credit and make sure your identity is returned to its prefraud state.

Do I need to sign up for AllClear Secure? No. AllClear Secure is automatically available with no enrollment required. Simply call AllClear ID at 1-855-904-5742 at any point while you’re an eligible Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan or Blue Care Network member if you need help.

What is AllClear Pro? This service includes credit monitoring, identity theft monitoring, identity repair, identity theft insurance and ChildScan for minors.

Do I need to sign up for AllClear Pro services? Yes. You and any dependent who wants AllClear Pro must enroll in order to take advantage of any of these services. If you’re interested in signing up, go to bcbsm.allclearid.com. This is a secure website. You’ll be asked for your name and email address. Next, you’ll get an email with a redemption code and instructions on enrolling and creating an online account. When enrolling, you’ll need to provide your name, contact information, Social Security number and the unique redemption code. You can also sign up by calling 1-855-904-5742 Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern time.

Do I need to sign up for AllClear Pro annually? Beginning in 2017, each adult who enrolls in AllClear Pro will receive a renewal email from AllClear ID at the end of each year. They’ll ask you verify that you are still an eligible Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan or Blue Care Network member so you can keep your AllClear ID services active.

How does AllClear Pro monitor credit? AllClear Pro looks at your credit activity and sends alerts when banks and creditors use your identity to open new accounts.

How does AllClear Pro identity theft monitoring work? AllClear Pro alerts you if personal information is reported to AllClear ID by industry security professionals, such as the FBI. This can include Social Security numbers, credit card numbers, PIN numbers, bank account logins and other online logins (emails and passwords). You’ll be alerted when your information is reported, and an investigator will look into the situation.

What is the identity theft insurance policy, and how does it work? Identity theft insurance is a zero-deductible policy included in the AllClear Pro service. It will reimburse you for certain fees, lost wages and fraud losses in the event of fraud. The full policy terms can be found at allclearid.com/legal/insurance.

What services are being offered to protect my child’s identity?

Any eligible dependent on your Blue Cross or BCN medical plan younger than 18 is covered by AllClear Secure (no enrollment required) and AllClear ID ChildScan if you enroll them in AllClear Pro. AllClear ID ChildScan actively scans databases to see if your child’s Social Security number is being used illegally. If fraud is found, an investigator will help to repair your child’s identity.

When and how will I get alerts? AllClear Pro credit monitoring looks at your credit activity and sends alerts by phone or email when banks and creditors use your identity to open new accounts. Does AllClear ID monitor my existing bank accounts for fraudulent activity? No, AllClear ID doesn’t monitor daily activity of your bank or credit card accounts. You can monitor your bank accounts by setting up account alerts, which are provided, free of charge to customers by most banks and credit unions. AllClear ID can assist eligible individuals in setting up these alerts for your credit card and bank accounts. It’s also recommended to review your monthly statements for unusual activity.

What do I do if I suspect insurance coverage or medical fraud? If you believe someone has stolen your health care coverage, or you notice suspicious activity on your explanation of benefits, call Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan’s Anti-Fraud Hotline at 1-800-482-3787.

Who will AllClear ID communicate with about these services? Beginning in 2017, you and any adult dependents on your plan who enroll in the AllClear Pro service will receive a renewal email from AllClear ID at the end of the year. If you and your dependents are still eligible for the services, you’ll need to verify your eligibility so they can extend your services for the following year. AllClear ID will not email or call your dependents younger than 18 — you will need to verify their eligibility for them. Any adult enrolled in AllClear Pro will also receive a monthly e-newsletter from AllClear ID with helpful tips on how to avoid identity theft.

Will I be charged for these services? As an eligible Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan or Blue Care Network member, you won’t be charged. And AllClear Secure and AllClear Pro are available to you and your dependents as long as you remain eligible.

Information about enrollingMay I use my email address to enroll a family member? Every adult must have a unique email address to enroll. That’s because your email address is the user name for your account. AllClear ID also uses your email address to send you updates. A parent or guardian may use his or her email address to enroll dependents younger than 18 in AllClear ID services.

Can I use my redemption code to enroll my family members, too? No, each redemption code may only be used once. You should request a unique redemption code for each eligible family member at bcbsm.allclearid.com.

Why isn’t my redemption code working? If you have trouble with your redemption code, please:

1. Check that you have typed the right web address into your browser.

2. Make sure you’ve typed in the redemption code exactly as it appears in your email notice. Copy and paste the code into the redemption box to reduce the chance of an error.

3. If your code still isn’t working, call AllClear ID at 1-855-904-5742.

Do I need to provide my personal information or Social Security number to AllClear ID? You only need to provide AllClear ID with personal information if you enroll in the AllClear Pro service or if it’s needed by AllClear ID to help you with an identity repair service. This personal information allows AllClear ID to monitor, investigate or repair your identity.

I’m hearing impaired. How do I talk to someone? Toll-free services for the hearing impaired are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by using a telecommunications relay service (also known as TRS). The relay service will take text messages from the caller, relay them to an AllClear ID representative and send the information back to the caller through the TTY service. Remember that AllClear ID’s service support hours are Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern time.
