This document describes how to install and set up PSB Mobile Security on your Android device.

Getting started with Protection Service for Business

This is the PSB Portal Home Page. Here you can manage your accounts, add devices, and make sure that your network is protected.

You can add new mobile devices to your network in the PSB portal.

At first, no mobile devices are registered to your

account.

Click the Mobile devices tab.

This opens the Mobile devices page, where you can

add new devices.

This is the Mobile devices page in the PSB portal, where you can add new mobile devices.

NOTE: These steps apply to Android devices that only have WiFi capability and cannot receive SMS messages. If your device can receive SMS messages, follow the steps in the Getting Started Guide for Android Phones.

Click Add device.

Select a PSB Mobile Security subscription from the

Subscription drop-down menu.

Enter the name and email address of the owner of the

mobile device that you want to add.

Click Add device.

The next step is to install the app on your mobile

device.

Installing PSB on your Wifi Connected Android Device

Before you start to install the app, you need to allow installation from unknown sources.

Open the control panel on your device and tap

Settings.

In the setting panel, go to the Security tab.

Scroll through the list and check that Unknown sources is turned on

TIP: On tablets, tap the bottom-right corner of your tablet (where the clock and WiFi icons are) to open Settings.

Check that you received the email that you sent in the PSB portal.

NOTE: The text in the email may vary depending on your solution provider.

Read the email thoroughly.

Write down your subscription key; you will need it

later.

Tap the installer link.

You will be redirected to a download page.

Installing PSB Mobile Security on WiFi Android devices

This is the PSB Downloads web page, where you can download the app.

NOTE: : If more than one version of the app is available, we recommend that you download the newest available version.

TIP: We recommend that you connect to a trusted WiFi network before you download the app.

Tap the see complete list link to check that your

Android version is supported.

Tap the Download link.

If any warning messages appear, tap OK or YES when

asked.

Tap Next to navigate through the information page.

Tap Install when it appears.

The installation begins.

The installation may take a while, depending on your device.

Wait for the installation to finish.

Tap Open.

The app shows you a flash screen when you start it.

Read the license terms.

Tap Accept.

Read the welcome message.

Tap Activate.

A pop-up screen appears.

Enter your subscription key.

Here you can activate device administrator rights for the app.

You need to activate device administrator rights to use the full set of security features in the app.

Read the administration message.

This is the home page in Mobile Security. From here, you can manage the app’s settings.

Tap Anti-Theft.

This opens the Anti-Theft page.

Configuring Anti-Theft

This is the Anti-Theft page, where you activate and manage the feature.

TIP: Anti-Theft is turned off by default. This is to ensure that you can choose your own security codes to get the full benefit for your device.

The first step is to select an unlock method. This is

device-specific, so choose the one that suits you best.

Follow the instructions on the screen. Consult the

manual for your device if you need more information.

TIP: The options you choose define how safe your device is. For this reason, you should choose the most secure option. If you need to provide a PIN code or password, make sure that nobody else can easily guess what it is.

After choosing an unlock method, you need to set a security code for remote commands.

Enter a Security Code.

Verify the Security Code.

Tap Continue.

You also need to define a trusted phone number to receive alerts from the app.

Enter the phone number that you want to use.

Tap Done.

2 TIP: Use a phone number that you use frequently, so that you will be notified as soon as possible of any suspicious activity on your lost or stolen device.


The Anti-Theft page now shows that the feature is enabled.

The status message shows that Anti-Theft is now

enabled.

Tap the Anti-Virus icon to scan your device for the

first time.

This is the Anti-Virus page, where you can scan your device and change the scanning settings.

Tap Scan now to start the scan.

A new page appears that shows you the scanning

progress.

When the scan is complete, you will see the results.

TIP: We recommend that you scan your device occasionally after new database updates to ensure that the latest available information is used to check your device.
