Use the labelling task at the end of a topic to see how much information the children have learnt...

Use the orbiting / repelling features within collecting activities to create animated scientific principles.

- Movement of planets

- Effect of gravity

- Magnetic Forces

Use the placing screen and an imported photo to create a writing stimulus. This could then be placed in VLE/MLE for children to craft a piece of fiction, either collaboratively or individually. See the 2Simple blog for more on this idea

Children teach each other!

Why not teach children the generic 2DIY skills (drawing, animating, importing pictures etc) and let them explore a new game type. Learn from each other by creating a 'wallwisher' or 'etherpad' of new things found out! By @icklekid

(for more of my ideas see my 2diy planning available at:http://ict.southwarkprimary.net/2009/11/09/2diy-planning/ )

Relate it to the topic!Children can create a game to show what they have learned about! Last term we did healthy eating. Use a catching game type they create different types of food both healthy and unhealthy. Set the points to +1 for healthy food and -1 for unhealthy. How many points can they get in 1 min shows you how much they learned! By @icklekid Image of actualgame to comesoon! Create a 'levels' game! One way to really hook children into 2diy is show them how to make games with different levels. This is very simple to do but really effective. They then need to think about how to make the levels increasing in difficulty or level of content/knowledge needed to complete the game!

(depending on if used for curriculum or ICT skills!)

Add your own customised animation effects by copying action script code from the 2DIY Script Archive website onto an object:

● make collectable items run away as you get closer to them;● make monsters orbit around collectable items;● make a player fall downwards using a gravity effect.

Use the sound recording feature within the software to get children to record their own audio for activities

See more hereSubmitted by @xannov

For example:

- pairs matching audio to text- ordering audio (ie counting)

Page 11: prova1

Use multi drag or puzzle to create simple dragging games based around current themes to help young pupils, or those with SEN with their mouse skills. If possible, get the older pupils to create activities for the younger pupils (as we do!).

Create basic activities for younger pupils.

Import images for a mini visual timetable that shows short timed activities. Good for sessions with younger pupils or those with SEN. You could even import visual timetable symbols (like PCS or Widget symbols) if appropriate!

Create an activity timer for pupils.

Use the webcam function for so much more than just taking a photo of a face.

Hold up a 3D item to the camera and use that in an activity.

Use pupils own artwork as a background, or as individual elements within an activity.

Page 14: prova1

Use the 'my shape' option on the 'Shapes' setting to create unusual or irregular shapes that can create pictures linked to a specific topic. This looks really good if you import a suitable picture as a background too!

Have fun with shapes.

Build a magnetic letter board using the "Multi-drag" activity (or you could also use words instead of letters)

See more hereSubmitted by @xannov

You can also increase and rotate the letters using the arrow keys.

This activity can also be used to make a scrabble style image.

Page 16: prova1

Use the level editor feature to make a story with up to 10 'pages'. Backgrounds can be made in other art programs (2PaintaPicture) and pasted or imported into each 'page'

See more hereSubmitted by @xannov

Each 'page' of the story can contain image and text, but also a fun element that makes the next page appear.

Reinforcing Routines for ASD/SEN childrenUse the Sequencing Screen to create simple jumbled schedules and use these as a speaking and listening activity. The activity could also be used as a Social Story
