Proverbs 29:21 He that delicately bringeth up his servant
from a child shall have him become his son at the
length.
(TLB) 21 Pamper a servant from childhood, and he
will expect you to treat him as a son!
Good usage to a servant does not mean indulgence,
which would ruin even a child. The body is a
servant to the soul; those that humor it, and are
over-tender of it, will find it forgets its place. Matthew Henry Concise Bible Commentary.

Romans 8 5-7 For they that are after the flesh do
mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after
the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally
minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life
and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity
against God: for it is not subject to the Law of God,
neither indeed can be.
To be carnally minded is to indulge the servant
and allow him to have his way.
“They that are after the flesh” means to
indulge the flesh, giving it what it wants.

1 Corinthians 3 1-3 And I, brethren, could not speak
unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even
as unto babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk,
and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to
bear it, neither yet now are ye able. For ye are yet
carnal: for whereas there is among you envying,
and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and
walk as men?
The carnal mind must be brought into
subjection unto the Spirit.

Proverbs 29:22 An angry man stirreth up strife, and a
furious man aboundeth in transgression.
Proverbs 25 28 He that hath no rule over his own
spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without
walls.
Uncontrolled anger is born in the carnal mind.
Rule over it like the servant it is.
Don’t become the servant of the carnal mind.

Proverbs 14 29 He that is slow to wrath is of great
understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth
folly.
Proverbs 16 32 He that is slow to anger is better
than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he
that taketh a city.
An out of control spirit is not from God.
The fruit of the Holy Spirit is temperance,
which is self control.
Yield to God’s Spirit and you won’t fulfill the lusts
of the flesh, such as anger or lust.

23 A man's pride shall bring him low: but honor
shall uphold the humble in spirit.
Pride makes us think we can do
what should be done.
“I’ll figger it out.”
“I’ll do it my way.”
“I’ll do it myself.”

24 Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own
soul: he heareth cursing, and bewrayeth it not. (to
denounce; to expose)
1 Corinthians 15 NIV 33 Do not be misled:
"Bad company corrupts good character."
Who is more likely to
be a good influence?

25 The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso
putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.
Trust God for all things and in all situations.
The worst any man can do is to kill you.
Shortcut to Heaven
We will do wrong when
we act out of fear.

26 Many seek the ruler's favor; but every man's
judgment cometh from the LORD.
Why strive for the favor of man?
Only God can bless you or curse you.
Seek God’s favor;
Do right in His Eyes.
12
27 An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and
he that is upright in the way is abomination to the
wicked.
(TLB) The good hate the badness of the wicked.
The wicked hate the goodness of the good.
There is no place for compromise.
2 Corinthians 6 17 Wherefore come out from among
them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch
not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
