AARP Smart Driving Course Schedule
Courses are offered to those who are 50 years
of age and older. The cost for AARP members is
$20 and for non-members is $25. Dates are listed
below:

Classes are held at Hamburg Senior Community
Center, 4540 Southwestern Blvd., Hamburg.
Those completing the course qualify for a discount of
up to 10 percent for 3 years on their automobile liabil-
ity and collision insurance and a 4-point reduction on
their driver’s license for accrued moving violations.

moment for the rest of their life?
If you answered “I do,” please register today for our
Aging Mastery Program. The fall session runs from Oct.
2—Dec. 4, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the HSCC.
AMP combines goal-setting, daily practices and peer
support to help us make meaningful changes in our lives.
AMP was created by the National Council on Aging and is
promoted by the New York State Office for Aging and the
Erie County Dept. of Senior Services. AMP’s goals in-
clude assisting participants to increase social connected-
ness and physical activity levels, improve healthy eating
habits, review advanced planning and adopt healthy be-
haviors. Free snacks are included.

The Hamburg Adult Day Care Program offers assistance to care-givers who work or need relief from the daily demands of providing care. The program includes meaningful programs, case supervi-sion, meals, fitness programs and assistance with personal care. This program is open to individuals who are unable to attend tradi-tional Senior Center programs, including residents of other towns. Full days and half days are available.

We offer the van service for Hamburg residents, 55 years of age and older in need of transportation to various appointments and destinations. Our fleet consists of full-size passenger vans and wheelchair accessible vehicles.
Dispatch office hours: Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Reservations for MEDICAL appointments may be made up to one week in advance.
Reservations for non-medical appointments must be made 24 hours in advance.
For MEDICAL PURPOSES ONLY, we have minivans to go to destinations outside of Hamburg.
There is no van service on weekends and all town holidays.
Fees are determined by distance and type of vehicle (passenger van or wheelchair). Most fees are within $10 to $45, per round trip.

This program offers 2 meals a day, 5 days a week to people who are 60 or older, disabled, home-bound, unable to do their own shopping or cooking, living alone or have little support. Delivery by a vol-unteer provides a daily check on the well-being of the recipient.

One-on-one counseling is available through the Erie County Department of Senior Services.
