Dear Parishioners and Friends of Our Lady of Fatima,/ Queridos parroquianos y amigos de Nuestra Señora de Fátima,
This month the scripture readings have a serious stewardship theme to them. They speak of the stewardship in our spiritual growth. My question is “Do you feel like you are growing in your relationship with God?” In her book “Forming Intentional Disciples: The Path to Knowing and Following Jesus” author Sherry Weddell re-ports that 30 percent of Catholics do not believe in a personal God or that they can have a personal relationship with Jesus.
During his visit to Assisi last week Pope Francis said "This is a good occasion for inviting the church to strip itself," adding that he directed this invitation not merely to the Church’s hierarchy but to all its members - calling them to renounce spiritual complacency as well as material riches. Pope Francis also stated “It is so sad to find a worldly Christian, who thinks he enjoys the security of the faith and
of the world. One can't have it both ways."
We are called to be good stewards in all our affairs - whether it is our time, talent, treasure, or our very being, our val-ues and our faith. Do you give your whole self to the Lord and to his church without holding back? Saint Paul recounts in 2 Timothy that he had finished the race, he gave his all to the Lord and now awaited the reward of his earthly labors. When we give ourselves completely to God like Saint Paul, a crown of righteousness awaits us.

Mi pregunta es " ¿Sientes que estás creciendo en tu relación con Dios? Estamos llamados a ser buenos administradores en todos nuestros asuntos si se trata de nuestro tiempo, talento y teso-ro, o nuestro ser, nuestros valores y nuestra fe. ¿Le das todo tu ser al Señor y a su Iglesia sin reservas? San Pablo relata en la 2 de Timoteo que después de terminar su la carrera, le dio su todo al Señor y ahora espera la recompensa de sus trabajos terrenales. Cuando nos entregamos completamente a Dios como San Pablo la corona de justicia nos espera.

All Souls NovenaDuring the month of November, we remember in our prayers those who have passed away during the past twelve months. A scroll listing the names of our parish members will be located in the sanctuary near the ambo. A novena will be offered for all souls. To include the name of a loved one, an offering envelope may be found at the church entrances and may be placed in the offertory basket or dropped off at the parish office.

Baby Shower for Birth ChoiceOCTOBER 17-31October is Respect Life Month and in keeping with that OLF is hav-ing a baby shower! There will be a baby crib at the back of the church where you can put your baby gift. The items collected will be taken to the Birth Choice Center, a pregnancy resource center, where they will then be given to the women who have chosen to give birth to their baby and who are now attending new baby parenting classes. Items needed by Birth Choice are: diapers, baby clothes, baby toys, and baby blankets. Let's help these new mothers and their babies get a great start to their new lives!
