Page 4: PSSSA 2015 Conference - Youth Ministry 101

1. Worship – Acts 20:7, With one another, in every day life, priorities2. Nurture one Another – John 15• I can not be all that I am called to be without you, you can not be all that you are

called to be without us.• This does not mean we are souly dependent on one another but on God and one

another when we need to be, not all the time.• I believe some people like being wounded because it is what they know and they

get attention, which is what they want about their woundedness.• GET UP and WALK – Keith3. Love the World – John 3:16 not 1 John 2:15• Not love what the world has to offer• James 4:4, “Don't you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy

of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God.”

• go and make – not sit and die – this is our purpose as the Church

BONUS: THE CHURCH NEEDS TO LEARN TO BALANCE ALL 3

3 Purposes of Church

3 Types of Churches in North America

here’s the current problem(s)

1. Backward Looking Church1. How it was back then, what was good back then - stagnate

2. Care-Taking Church1. Doesn’t look to future, looks at maintenance, decisions based

on resources – comfortable, not pressing in3. Risk-Taking Church

1. Looking into future1. like Noah, vision was based on God’s promise

2. like Abraham, saw the vision of the foundation3. like Jesus, trusted 11, with message of eternity
