This is so important to so many of our homeowners I wanted to be sure to go on record with my voice. I have lived in Westwood all my life and attended UCLA in the late 70s. I still reside in Little Holmby and try to frequent businesses in Westwood as much as possible. I sit on the Westwood Holmby Property Owners Association Board and I am a member of the Little Holmby Alliance which was formed by hundreds of neighbors that wanted the chance to be informed on issues and initiatives in order to be recognized and heard. This is an issue that they unanimously feel strongly about. We all are quite aware of the history of Westwood and how vibrant it once was. I will not waste time rehashing those golden memories. What we have witnessed is the rapid decline of Westwood after being held hostage by an outdated specific plan and two individuals who have been on a mission to stop any new growth in the area. I am exhausted from attending hearings to dispute their inaccurate information, vitriol and harassment of retailers that should be applauded and welcomed with open arms in Westwood. The issue of parking is clearly outdated and further more has been eradicated by time. We know that students, homeowners and business employees have begun accessing numerous other means of transportation. Honestly, if there was anywhere to go in Westwood these means of transport would be utilized. More significantly the Purple Line will be stopping at Westwood and the need for more restaurants which would anchor more retail is dire. Without those new businesses there will be no need to stop the line. The adage if you build it they will comeshould be the Westwood motto. More and more I have heard the complaint, theres no where to eat, theres nothing to do, when discussing Westwood. Please, I ask that you listen to the businesses and homeowners that are desperate for more entertainment and shopping to help revive this ghost town. Help us help Westwood by amending The WVSP. Dear Councilman Koretz, Ms. Solomon-Cary and The Planning Deputy,

Due to some unfortunate serious family events I am unable to attend todays land use hearing regarding The Westwood Village Specific Plan. This is so important to so many of our homeowners I wanted to be sure to go on record with my voice.

I have lived in Westwood all my life and attended UCLA in the late 70’s.

The adage “if you build it they will come” should be the Westwood motto.

More and more I have heard the complaint, “there’s no where to eat, there’s nothing to do”, when discussing Westwood. Please, I ask that you listen to the businesses and homeowners that are desperate for more entertainment and shopping to help revive this ghost town.

Help us help Westwood by amending The WVSP.
