prescription medicine while fighting COVID-19.“We took Tylenol for
fever, vitamins D, C, zinc and magnesium along with baby aspirin,” Talbert said. “We stayed hydrated and monitored our oxygen level.”She added: “We can not
express our gratitude sufficiently for the outpouring of support and love that all of you [the community] have shown us. We have been overwhelmed to say the least. For those of you who are curious, there were a few rough days, and the rest of them have been just a haze of extreme fatigue. We’ve been well-fed by some incredible people. We’ve slept and rested and worked on keeping each
other’s spirits up.”***
Lampasas Chief of Police Sammy Bailey announced Thursday that a Lampasas Police Department officer was in self-quarantine after testing positive for COVID-19.
The officer last worked on July 9, Bailey said in a news release. He felt ill on July 12 and was tested July 13. Medical personnel reported his positive result status on July 16, Bailey said.
“This officer is experiencing mild symptoms at this time, which we hope means he will have a complete and speedy recovery,” the police chief said. “The officer will remain off duty, will self-quarantine under care and physician’s advice until
he is well and at least 14 days have passed since he was tested.”
The LPD continues to follow recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control, Texas Department of State Health Services, Local Health Authority Dr. Georgia Hay and Dr. James Cain for prevention of spread of the coronavirus, Bailey said.
