Carrying 118 million customers a year There are over 900 buses and these
cover 57 million kilometers each year. They carry an average of 400,000
customers each day from Monday to Friday
currently employ over 3,000 employees. Over 90 per cent of its buses is low-floor
wheelchair accessible and it is expected that the full fleet will be 100% accessible by 2013.
LEAP Card
A Leap Card is a reusable plastic smart card that can be used
instead of paper tickets to pay-as-you-go for transport in Dublin.
Time based tickets (e.g. a weekly or monthly ticket) will be made
available. Leap Card fares are up to 11% cheaper than
Dublin Bus single tickets, up to 17% cheaper than
Luas singles, and up to 18% cheaper than DART and
Commuter Rail singles.
