BUILDING PARTNERSHIPS

Utah Broadband Advisory Council was formed in 2011 and convenes to discuss the status of broadband adoption

and deployment around the state.

UTAH BROADBAND PROJECT 2014 ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Coordinating Deployment-Completed a statewide Regional Broadband Planning Effort with over 19 cities, 12 elected officials , 40 Internet providers , 10 libraries, 5 healthcare institutions, 4 Native American Tribes and 49 businesses participating.

Growing Awareness-Hosted a Statewide Broadband Tech Summit, with over 250 participants it’s first year, who were interested in strengthening Utah’s broadband.

Objective Analysis-Completed a statewide survey, to determine broadband adoption trends.

Emerging Frontiers- Completed a mobile broadband drive test, driving over 6,000 miles of Utah roads.

UTAH BROADBAND PLAN

Promote broadband deployment best practices, especially in rural Utah

Launch the Nation’s first Commercial Broadband Map

Help schools, libraries and tribal centers obtain high-speed connections

Help businesses and cities get online

Serve as a state broadband policy advisor
