WEEKLY UPDATES Good Afternoon Folks, Here are this week’s updates: SUBBRANCH PROGRESS: Upcoming Subbranch Elections: August 13 th Golden Isles August 14 th – Elizabeth August 30 th Fox Hill Please note the following subbranches are also up for elections/establishment: Southern Shores, Grand Bahama, Carmichael, Engerlston, San Salvador, Bain & Grants Town. If you or someone you know, are interested in becoming a member or an executive of a subbranch, please contact the subbranch committee at [email protected] BIRTHDAY WISHES Happy Birthday, to all those who celebrated their birthday this week. A special Happy Birthday to PYL’s National Chairman Ms. D’Asante Beneby, the Hon. Dr. Kendal Major, Hon. Melanie Griffin. May God bless you all to see many more. PYL’S NATIONWIDE BOOK DRIVE: BOOKS! BOOKS! AND MORE BOOKS! The National Book Drive has launched and the constituency officers are collecting more and more books everyday. On August 1 st PYL launched its nationwide book drive and will be collecting books until August 25 th that are in good condition at all constituency offices nationwide, at the Sir Lynden Pindling Center (New Providence) and PLP House (Grand Bahama). These books will then be distributed throughout the Urban Renewal Centers as we launch our ‘Each One Teach One’ Tutoring Session Program. Stay tuned for more information & thank you in advance for your book contributions. PLP STEAK OUT: Thank you everyone that came out to support the PLP’s Steak Out on Emancipation Day. The Steak Out was a major success and the food was delicious. Thank you all and see you next time.

   UPCOMING  EVENTS:  

 NGM  (National  General  Meeting):    The  next  general  meeting  is  scheduled  for  August  26th,  2012  under  the  theme,  “Gambling:  The  Youth’s  Perspective”  at  the  Sir.  Lynden  O.  Pindling  Center  at  4pm.    There  will  be  guest  speakers,  prizes  and  a  mock  referendum  taking  place.  We  welcome  all  young  Bahamians  ages  13-­‐35  to  learn  more  about  the  organization  and  to  meet  the  new  executive  board.  Light  refreshments  will  be  served.
