Folder Structure
The Folder : A virtual container within a digital file system, in which groups of files and other folders can be kept and organized.
Files can be : documents, pictures, audio or video files, etc.
How to create a new folder and sub folders
Right-click on the location where you want to create the folder. (Eg. Desktop) Then choose New and Folder (as shown below). Enter a suitable name for this folder.
After creating a Folder, we can create Sub folders inside it as given in the following structure:

Folder and File Views
To organize the files or folders you can use view option. Right click on the location and choose:
View - It will change the size of the icons from (Extra large –large – medium – small )
List ( will arrange the files as a list )
Details (will show the details of the files such as name , size, type and date modified)
Sorting files
Sorting means arranging the files and folders in a particular order (Ascending or Descending order of Name, Date modified, Type, Size )
NOTE: To Sort the files it is IMPORTANT to view in Details View before sorting. (as shown
above)
To
sort and organize folders and files, Right click and select Sort By and choose one of the following :

- Name : will sort the files by name in Ascending or Descending order . - Date Modified : will sort the files by Date Modified in Ascending or Descending
order . - Type : will sort the files by their type (Eg. Word, Excel, Jpeg files, etc.)- Size : will sort the files by their file size in Ascending order or Descending order.

Sort/Arrange icons by : To sort icons on the desktop Right click on the desktop and choose Sort By and then select the required option such as Name , Size , Type or Date Modified.

Viewing file/folder properties
In order to view the file properties you have to Right click on the file or folder and choose Properties.

The search box filters the current view based on text that you type, the search includes all folders included in the library as well as subfolders within those folders.
To search for a file or folder by using the search box:
Type the file name or part of it in the search box, then press enter.
Example: letter.docx Searches for all word documents with the name letter letter Searches for all types of files and folders with the name letter
