Tasks
Setting up a Task Tag
1. SetupLookup EditorGeneralTasks (Several are listed but may not be assigned to a Division)
2. Right click and select “New Task Tag”
3. Select a type. Type determines what part of the chart will be copied or showed in the task

a. Encounter - Source Document is the Encounter Chart Note Editor. b. General – Not related to a patient and no Source Document. c. Image Indexing - The Source Document is the Image. d. Immunization - The Source Document is the Immunization code. e. Inbound Referral - The Source Document is the Inbound Referral Editor f. Lab - The Source Document is the Lab Order g. Medication - The Source Document is the Medication Order h. Medication Refill - The Source Document is the current medication order that needs to
be refilled i. Outbound Referral - The Source Document is the Outbound Referral Form j. Patient - The Source Document is the Patient Workplace k. Procedure - The Source Document is the Procedure Order l. Radiology - The Source Document is the Radiology Order
Note: the Source Document refers to the part of the chart that is copied into the task
4. Add a Tag (type of task)text can be customized based on source document and recommended action
5. Select a default criticality-options are critical, high, medium and low (if the critical option is selected, it will show up in red)
6. Requires Sign-Offwill sign off task and respective types (i.e. Encounter Sign-Off)

7. Auto Generated tasksthe completion of this task will automatically complete another task to be completed (i.e. used for cosign)
Creating a New Task
1. Go to My Tasks , right click and select create a new tasks

2. Go to Create Task in Respecting Sections, i.e. a. Patient DemographicsPatient Task b. ImagesImage Indexing c. ReferralsOutbound d. EncountersEncounter
For example, to create a new task in an encounter, click “New Task” on the top toolbar. This will
generate copy of encounter for the task
1. Select a tag (If applicable) 2. Select a criticality (If applicable) 3. Add a due by date (If applicable) 4. Add assign user(s) (If applicable)(…=Group) 5. Check box if sign off is required (If applicablemay be checked already depending on tag) 6. Select OK
Working Tasks
1. To work a task, pull up the task to be completed on the “My Tasks” section on the Dashboard
Or
2. Click tasks from the bottom panel in PyraMED. 3. Use the filters to search for specific tasks. 4. The default is to display ALL incomplete tasks.

5. Double click the task to open it-the type of task will determine what you see. 6. There are two tabs-source document (depends on type of task) and task
7. The source document tab allows you to make change directly to the source document. 8. The task tab allows you to make notes, reassign or assign another status. 9. Task options:
a. Patient workplace – opens up the patient’s chart b. Complete and close – completes the task and marks it as closed. If the task requires
sign-off, the user will be required to enter a password to sign off. c. Keep in progress – changes the status of the task to in progress. d. OK – will save any changes make to the Task tab of the task. I.e. if the user assigned
another provider, changed statues, or added notes. e. Cancel – does NOT save changes.
Reassigning a Task
Users can reassign a Task(s) to another User or Group of Users by highlighting one or more Tasks and
selected the Reassign Tasks Action. The Reassign Task Editor will appear. The User then has the
following options:

Reassign to a User or User Group Change the Criticality Add a Note
If the User changes the Criticality or Adds a Note without actually Reassigning the Tasks, these changes will be saved.
Reviewing Tasks Assigned
1. Change filter for Search In to “Tasks I assigned”
This will allow you to review the status, etc. of the tasks
