VACANCIES Busia Water and Sewerage services Company Limited [BUWASSCO) is a County Corporation under the Busia Water and Sewerage Services Act 2015 [section 4(2)), and is registered un Companies Act [Cap 486) of the Laws of Kenya. Its mandate is to provide water and sewerage services to the residents of Busia County. To fulfil this role, BUWASSCO is seeking to recrui skilled, results oriented and self-driven professionals with relevant experience in the following fields:
1. MANAGING DIRECTOR (1 POST)
The Managing Director is the Chief Executive Officer answerable to the Board of Directors.
Job Description: I. Providing strategic direction and leadership. II. Coordinating and implementing all activities of the company in line with the policies
approved by the Board. 111. Formulating policies on core functional areas of the board for approval. IV. Development and implementation of strategic and business plan including preparation
of Annual Work Plan and Budgets. V. Ensure proper management and operation of the institution on daily basis. VI. Ensure compliance with the Government Legal directives
Minimum Qualifications and Experience; I. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Commerce or a related discipline from a recognized
institution and a member of a professional body. II. A Master's in Business Administration will be an added advantage. Ill. Minimum of 10 [ten) years' experience in a busy commercial utility environment with
3 years being in senior management level. Demonstrate leadership qualities, proper experience in dealing with change in an organization.
VI. Ability to critically assess situations, solve problems, work effectively under within deadlines, and in emergency situations

3. FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION MANAGER (1 POST)
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Finance and Administration Manager will strategic leadership in managing the administration functions of the company as ensuring effective application of applicable financial policies and procedures in liais the Managing Director

IV. Have a record of proper performance, self-driven, result oriented and possess excellent public relations and customer oriented skills.

2. TECHNICAL SERVICES MANAGER
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Technical Services Manager will be responsible for the maintenance of water production and distribution systems, and the wastewater collection and treatment facilities through administrative, supervisory and technical work related to planning and directing daily activities of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation maintenance staff.
Job description: I. Coordinating all technical matters relating to corporate planning, design and
implementation of water and sewerage services. II. Training, motivating, coordinating, and evaluating assigned staff in order to ensure high
service levels and correction of deficiencies Ill. Analysing problems, identifying alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed
actions and implementing solutions in liaison with the Managing Director. IV. Promoting and developing sustainable and viable water supplies for both urban and rural
schemes. V. Planning and implementing maintenance and improvement projects and ensuring design
and construction standards are adhered to and maintained VI. Ensuring the effective use of all personnel, equipment, and facilities. VII. Preparing and submitting reports through the Managing Director as required by statutory
bodies and national laws and regulations VIII.Implementing safety awareness programming in accordance with company policy and
Environment and Safety guidelines. IX. Ability to raise funds X. Performing any other duties as assigned from time to time
Qualifications and Experience I. A Bachelor's degree in any of the following: Water, Irrigation or civil Engineering from a
recognised institution II. Post graduate qualification in a relevant field will be an added advantage Ill. Training and experiertce in developing and implementing Water Safety Plans will be an
added advantage IV. Minimum experience of 8 years in water and sewerage development, operation and
maintenance with a minimum of 3 years related supervisory experience. V. Demonstrated management and administrative skills backed by leadership qualities
revenue collection and utilisation V. Managing the company's cash flow and forecasting and ensuring that cash flow is
to support operational requirements VI. Implementing a robust financial management and reporting system and ensuri1
the contract billing and collection schedule is adhered VII. Effectively communicating and presenting the critical financial matters to the B1
directors through the Managing Director VIII.Ensuring staff performance initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policit
procedures. IX. Performing any other duties as assigned from time to time. X. Ability to raise funds
Qualification and Experience: I. A Bachelor's degree in Commerce- Finance Option from a recognised institution. II. Holder of CPA Kor equivalent 111. Master's degree in any of the following: Commerce, Accounting, Business Administr
Finance from a recognised institution will be an added advantage. IV. Registered with institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK:
registration of Accountants Board of Kenya (RAB) V. Have 8 years' experience VI. Have high integrity and fulfil the chapter 6 requirements of the Constitution of Ken VII. The Job is a 3 year contract.
