With substantial upward movement in global financial markets and what appears to be a short-term solution to the European debt crisis, yacht brokerage activity has increased in early 2012. A perfect example of this was the successful sale of the 65.5m (215 Ft.) Palmer Johnson PROJECT STIMULUS by Moran Yacht & Ship. This is the fifth Palmer Johnson built yacht that has been sold by Moran Yacht & Ship in the past four years. Additionally, the sale of this yacht will directly create no less than 300 jobs at the Palmer Johnson shipyard and at least 500 additional jobs for associated industries and service companies. Another notable recent sale by Moran Yacht & Ship was the 30.5m (100 Ft.) Sunseeker MADSUMMER.

Activity by Moran Yacht & Ship’s new construction office continues in 2012 with the launching of two vessels, the 87m (285 Ft.) Lurssen ACE and the 55m (180 Ft.) Amels STEP ONE. Expect to see both of these superyachts cruising the Mediterranean before the end of the summer. ACE and STEP

ONE represent the first two of six yachts expected to be delivered by Moran Yacht & Ship in 2012.

sale. The newest addition to the fleet is the 64m (210 Ft.) Palmer Johnson PROJECT HERMES, which is the sister ship to the recently sold PROJECT STIMULUS. Other newly listed yachts include the 41.8m (137 Ft.) Palmer Johnson SYRENKA, the 34.8m (114 Ft.) Kees Cornelissen MIAMI BLUES, the 29.7m (97 Ft.) Ferretti CAROLINA, the 26.2m (86 Ft.) Dominator SASHEN’KA, and the 21m (69 Ft.) Ferretti ALTURA 690.

The price of the 68m (223 Ft.) Lurssen KISMET has been reduced by €10,000,000 to €85,000,000. KISMET is one of the few Lurssen superyachts available for sale and one finest yachts in the world. Undoubtedly, this price reduction will result in the timely sale of the vessel.

PROJECT HERMES

HARMONY FEATUREThis 50m (164 Ft.) motor yacht was built at Westport in 2010 by an experienced and discerning owner with a long history of building vessels. Her sleek lines, 30 Ft. beam, and beautiful interior make HARMONY a truly special, and incredibly comfortable, yacht.

HARMONY’s main propulsion is the powerful MTU 16V 4000 series engine, this allows her to reach top speeds of 23 knots and cruise at 20 knots. Combine that with her 8 Ft. draft, and you have vessel that can you get you anywhere and do it in a very short amount of time.

HARMONY features 6 cabins with accommodation for up to 12 guests, a convertible gym, and boasts and elevator with service to every deck on the vessel. Her bridge deck features a VIP lounge that has a large screen TV, a card-playing table, and comfortable seating throughout. This lounge opens up to the aft deck dining area, an area designed to hold large parties or have intimate dinners.

HARMONY’S elegant design, voluminous and well-appointed interior combine to give you a vessel built for comfortable cruising, whether it’s with a large family, or in a more intimate setting.

SYRENKA FEATUREThe 41.8m (137 Ft.) Palmer Johnson SYRENKA is the latest addition to the Moran Yacht & Ship charter fleet. This five stateroom yacht recently completed an extensive refit. A refreshingly comfortable new interior was added, featuring supple leathers and Ralph Lauren soft furnishings in shades of blue, white, ivory, and brown. Other notable enhancements include extra-wide passageways, an elevator and wheelchair accessibility on three decks. Located on the main deck, the full-beam master suite is tastefully appointed in a medley of fine woods and natural fabrics and includes an oversized en-suite bath with large shower and his-and-her heads. Four guest staterooms are located on the lower deck, including the VIP with a queen bed, two additional queen staterooms, and one twin stateroom.

With numerous areas to relax and entertain, SYRENKA seems much larger than she really is. The interior on the main deck is comprised of a comfortable lounge and dining salon. Located on the deck above, the sky salon is the yacht’s central gathering spot. Here a 50” plasma TV is surrounded by a large circular settee with seating for ten. The sundeck offers a full wet bar and grill along with ample space for sunbathing.

DAY 1 NEWPORT - BLOCK ISLANDStart your journey in the historic harbour of downtown Newport where North American sailing started, and enjoy this venerable city, touted by many as the sailing capital of the world, before heading to Block Island. You can spend the morning sightseeing and shopping, then sail to Block Island where fishing enthusiasts will enjoy the Great Salt Pond of New Harbor, while shoppers will want to head to Old Harbor, situated in the centre of town, which also boasts lovely seafood restaurants. Stay overnight in Block Island.

DAY 2 BLOCK ISLAND - MENEMSHA, M.V.Set sail from gorgeous Block Island to the bucolic glamour of Martha’s Vineyard, specifically the quaint fishing village of Menemsha, located in the town of Chilmark. Perfect for stretching those sea legs. Known for its calm, solicitous atmosphere, the joy of Martha’s Vineyard is the ability to relax and forget the time. The best way to do this is to spend the day on the beach, but for those with more active pursuits on their mind, there are tours of the island’s prolific vineyards and miles of rustic, but well-maintained, bicycle paths. Stay overnight.

DAY 3 MENEMSHA, M.V. - EDGARTOWN, M.V.The next stage of the voyage leads from diminutive Menemsha to cosmopolitan Edgartown, a luxurious hideaway for celebrities and A-listers alike. Explore Main Street and its picture-perfect harbour, soak up the sun on Lighthouse Beach or take a launch out and explore nearby Katama Beach or Chappaquideck. As evening falls, you can enjoy the beautiful sunset with an onboard cocktail, followed by a delicious repast in picturesque Edgartown. Stay overnight.

DAY 4 EDGARTOWN, M.V. - NANTUCKETHead from the chic delights of Edgartown and sail southeast to Nantucket Island, and it’s gorgeous harbour. Located 30 miles out to sea and once the world’s center of the whaling industry as well as the inspiration for the novel, Moby Dick, Nantucket Island is a destination steeped in fascinating history and boasting world-class amenities. Explore one of the many pristine, secluded beaches or indulge in some shopping along the 19th century cobble-stone streets of downtown Nantucket Town; be sure to get a good look at the picturesque harbour. For a more remote experience, dinghy to Coatue or Wauwinet Harbour. Head ashore for dinner at one of Nantucket’s numerous gastronomic delights after which, the night owls will enjoy the varied nightlife. Stay overnight.

DAY 5 NANTUCKET - OAK BLUFFS, M.V.Set sail from luscious Nantucket for the lovely island of Martha’s Vineyard and her quaint Victorian village of Oak Bluffs. Known for its gingerbread-style houses and eclectic restaurants, it is also a luxurious bastion for celebrities as it is home to the largest marina on the island. Known for its calm, solicitous atmosphere, the joy of Martha’s Vineyard is the ability to relax and forget the time. The best way to do this is to spend the day on the beach, but for those with more active pursuits on their mind, there are tours of the island’s prolific vineyards and miles of rustic, but well-maintained, bicycle paths. Stay overnight in Oak Bluffs.

DAY 6 OAK BLUFFS, M.V. - WOODS HOLE - CUTTYHUNK ISLANDHead from charming Oak Bluffs to sea-spray village of Woods Hole and its tricky Woods Hole Passage where currents can exceed 7 knots. Head next to the isolated beauty of Cuttyhunk Island, a jewel of the Elizabethean Islands with one of the most picturesque harbors in all of New England. Explore Woods Hole’s beach road of Church Street, which leads to the venerable Nobska Lighthouse, boasting spectacular views of the Vineyard Sound. Then travel to Woods Hole proper, the perfect stop for a light lunch. In Cuttyhunk, sail to the deepwater basin of Cuttyhunk Pond for remote splendour or anchor in the harbour for a quaint and calming experience. Sample the delicious ice-cream to cool off the heat of the day, then warm up at night in the local restaurants whose menus are bursting with the freshly-caught fruits of the sea. Stay overnight.

DAY 7 CUTTYHUNK ISLAND - NEWPORTSail back to Newport, Rhode Island, touted by many as the sailing capital of the world and synonymous with the glory and glamour of the yachting age. Have a delicious brunch at one of Newport’s exquisite array of restaurants then indulge in a bit of shopping at one of the many boutiques and ateliers. The more active visitors will want to stroll the breathtaking Cliff Walk or wander the lush Topiary Gardens. Depart from the boat in Newport rested, relaxed and rejuvinated.
