Colour Scheme…Throughout my tasks, both main and ancillary, I have kept to a consistent colour scheme. The red which I have used for my masthead and writing on the poster links in with the aspect of regionality. The colour red is associated with the Sunderland Football Club, SAFC, which is highly relatable and recognisable with the majority of the Sunderland population.

The black which I have used for the font is clear and easy to read, which appeals to the audience. The font which I have used is also consistent throughout. This again helps to make it recognisable for the audience. Keeping to the same font means that the readers can easily recognise that it is their local newspaper.

QR Code…The QR code is an aspect which links all three of my tasks together. There is a link on both my poster and my main product which links to the newspapers website. This helps to broaden my target audience. As the newspaper front cover is linked to the website, a younger target audience may be attracted who are more experienced with online technologies. The QR code also helps to create more awareness of the newspaper, appearing in a range of places attracting a wide range of different people.

Images…

The images of popular local landmarks all also link together and make the newspaper recognisable to the public that it is from the Sunderland area. These images all come together in creating a good and effective local newspaper which appeal to the public and engages its target audience.

Other images which I have taken include:• The Stadium of Light • Wearmouth Bridge

These images are popular and recognisable from the Sunderland area. The likes of the New Tesco and the Wheatsheaf Pub are also popular with the population of Sunderland.
