Global Project Finance Up 7% I EMEA - Most Active Region I Power Projects Accounts for 32% of Activity
Global Project Finance ReviewMANAGING UNDERWRITERS
Global Project Finance posted US$194.4 billion from 482 deals in the first nine months of 2015, up 7.1% from the same period in 2014. EMEA drove market activity, accounting for 39.7% of total volumes, with US$77.2 billion from 193 deals.
In the first three quarters of 2015, Americas Project Finance saw a 10.2% increase in proceeds compared to the same period last year. The Oil & Gas sector accounted for 44% of the market, driven by seven of the ten list largest transanctions in the Americas thus far.
EMEA Project Finance totaled US$77.2 billion with 193 deals for the first three quarters of 2015, up 7.7% from the comparable period last year. The US$5 billion Gebze-Orhangazi-Izmir Highway in Turkey was the largest deal completed in the third quarter.
Asia Pacific & Japan Project Finance reached US$51.6 billion in the first nine months, a 2.6% increase from the same period in 2014. Taiwan High Speed Rail Corp’s US$12.1 billion refinancing signed in August was the largest deal of the year, thus far, accounting for 60.4% of the region's Transportation sector.
