About QEVTThe Queen’s Eco-Vehicle team is aninterfaculty, student run team, that designsand builds ultra-fuel efficient lightweightvehicles to compete in the Shell Eco-MarathonAmericas. It is an international competitionthat is currently held in Detroit, Michigan.

FFounded in 2013, QEVT is a growing team with upwards of 40 members from different faculties. QEVT provides students with anopportunity to innovate and apply classroomknowledge to solve real world problems fora better tomorrow.

MeettheTeam

Last year QEVT had a dedicated group of students designing and building Gaia, our 2015 competition car. This school year a number of our members have returned, and they are highly motivated to continue our team’s course towards being one of the most successful and ininfluential student groups on campus.

Each technical team is led by an experienced QEVT member who will guide them in the design and fabrication process. QEVT has three technical sub teams; Electrical, Body & Chassis and Engine. We also have the Business sub team, which is open to all faculties wiswishing to work with a design team. Throughout the season, members help design and build the next generation of ultra-fuel efficient vehicles.

Message from the Captains3

I am a fourth year mechanical engineering student interested in pursuing sustainable energy. I am a founding member of QEVT and very motivated to bring the team to a competitive level at the Shell Eco-marathon. This team is imimportant to me because it aims to develop innovative ways to improve efficiency in the automotive industry. I am eager to start building our first monocoque chassis in the fall and bring our cars to the next level.

I am so excited to be part of the 2016 executive team for QEVT, each year we continue to improve our vehicle, and we have a feeling that this upcoming competition will be a huge breakout year for us. Our Business team has set a goal to tuturn QEVT into the most recognized and well-run student team on campus. We actively participate in campus events and other sustainability initiatives within the Kingston community. Join us as we build our newest vehicle for the 22016 Shell Eco-marathon.

This is an exciting year for QEVT. For the last 2 years, QEVT has established itself as one of the fastest growing teams at Queen’s. The team has a number of amazing and innovative projects coming up, and we have a fantastic group of pepeople leading it. These projects range from CAD optimization and carbon fiber monocoque manufacturing, to engine EFI tuning and electrical control system design. QEVT is building an amazing vehicle, and we would llove for you to be a part of it.
