PRAYERS OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNION

When we are unable to receive Holy Communion sacra-mentally, we can receive great graces and blessings by ex-pressing our desire to do so in what is called a “spiritual Communion.”

This practice goes back many centuries and has a rich tradi-tion. There are different models for doing this, but they all have these steps in common:

Make an act of faith: Jesus, I believe that You are really pre-sent in the Holy Eucharist. . .

Make an act of love: Jesus, I love You because You are all-good and deserving of my love. . .

Make an act of desire: I want to receive You in Holy Com-munion, the Gift You have chosen above all others to share Yourself and Your life with me. . .

Invite Jesus to come into your heart: Please come into my heart, my life and everything I do. . .

Thank Him for being truly within your heart and soul You can simply use these words or expand on them in your own way. Remember to pray for others too, just as you would if you were at Mass and receiving Sacramentally / physically.

Fr. Mark and Fr. Claude are continuing their commitment to dedicating Mass intentions at the livestreamed and pri-vate Masses.

PRIÈRE D’OUVERTURE

Dans ton amour infini, Dieu notre Père, tu as relevé ton

Amen.

MISSION STATEMENT We, the Faith Community of Our Lady of Fatima, Coquitlam, are called to be welcoming and loving disciples of Jesus Christ, living the joy of the Gospel values like the Blessed Mother, witnessing, humbly serving and supporting the Church, our Parish and neighbours.

(Excerpt from Archbishop J. Michael Miller’s Message last March 20, 2020

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

After further prayerful consideration; and after no small amount of sadness; and after hearing from senior pastors and others about the need for a single directive for the entire Archdiocese; and in keeping with the regulations of the other Dioceses of British Columbia; I direct that all Masses, whether Sunday or weekday, beginning on Saturday, March 21, are to be offered without a public congregation, until further notice. This likewise applies to other parish activities and celebrations, such as Stations of the Cross, and so on.

Consequently, all the faithful are dispensed, for the time being, from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass.

As this situation continues to evolve rapidly, we encourage you to sign up for email updates at rcav.org/coronavirus. For parish-related updates, please visit our parish website ourladyoffatima.ca or join us on Facebook at Our Lady of Fatima—Notre Dame de Fatima Coquitlam.

QUETES
