TRANSITIONINGTO MIDDLESCHOOL

QUAIL VALLEY MIDDLE SCHOOL

TIPS FOR INCOMING 6TH GRADE PARENTS

SCHOOL SUPPLIES

No need to bring all supplies to school to orientation or the first day. On the first day, be

sure to have a folder, a writing utensil, and notebook paper.

Set-up the CASE-IT Binder after meeting the teachers. String bags are encouraged for

tranporting materials during the day.

BRING THEM IN SLOWLY!

TARDIES AND LOCKERS

Tardies will not be counted against students during the first week of school. On the first

day of school, kids will have a chance to find their lockers and practice during Raider

Camp. Feel free to practice with combination locks at home over the summer.

PRACTICE DURING RAIDER CAMP

LESS POLLUTION, MORE BENEFITS

ORIENTATION/MEET AND GREET

On August 8th, your child will get their schedule and locker assigned to them.

The counselors will do a brief update over what to expect on the first day of

middle school! Students can go home at 4:30 if desired. However, from 4:30 to

5:30 students will engage in fun activities designed to help them get to know

one another.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS

TECHNOLOGY

Students will be asked to keep cell phones/smart phones secured in a locker

during the school day. Therefore, parents interested in providing their child

technology for instructional purposes are encouraged to provide mini-laptops

(such as Chromebooks) or small tablets (such as ipads).

MINI-LAPTOPS AND TABLETS ALLOWED

PE AND KICKSTART UNIFORMS

Your child will be asked to purchase a PE/Kickstart Uniform to wear during class. These

details will be shared during the first days of school.

FUN AND FITNESS
