EXCELLENCE IN THE AWARD MODEL
• The Award has previously developed a quality assurance
framework but this was designed as an aide to national
operators and was not specifically built in to any business
processes.
• The new quality assurance process is built in to the licence
standards based on 6 thematic areas and is a 6 step
process.
• Each NAA will have to go through this process in order to
attain their Full licence and Full membership status

• Establish what causes success - The six themes of Award Excellence
• Identify and measure your current progress - Self assessment
• Take actions to continually improve towards achievement of your goals - Improvement plan
• Go back to step one and carry on - Repeated every three years

QUALITY ASSURANCE – PILOT FEEDBACK
November 12
“The quality assurance framework is a comprehensive guide that seeks to emphasize
improvement in delivery standards and streamline the relationship between key stake
holders with a view of increasing growth and sustainability through shared good
practice and improvement of internal quality assurance processes of NAAs.”
Katende Mukiibii , Programme Manager ,
Source of the Nile , Uganda
“ On the national scale, the model gave us a better understanding of our role as a
service agency which must enable through the Operating Authorities and Award Units
the positive outcome of the individual development processes of the Award
participants. We recognised, that our approach for securing quality was too much
input-oriented and we should also have a stronger focus on the output.”
Klaus Vogel , National Director ,
Das Internationale Jugendprogramme in Deutschland
