Introduction

This portfolio is a tool to help plan and document your continuous professional

development. You can incorporate information from your self-assessment and peer

feedback that will help you to plan your professional development activities. You can

then track your activities throughout the year and evaluate your progress as you go.

Quality Assurance Requirements

Registered Nurses;

• meet minimum practice hours (1,125 hours over the last five years)

• complete a self-assessment using CRNBC Standards of Practice

• seek and receive peer feedback

• create and implement a professional development plan based on their self-

assessment and peer feedback

• evaluate the effect of last year’s professional development on their practice.

The requirements vary under certain circumstances such as certified practice, and for

nurse practitioners. Please refer to the CRNBC website for more details.
