Oral toxicity

18

Oral toxicity can be given in terms of its lethal dose 50 ( LD/50 ) i.e., number if gms of the material per kg of body weight required to kill half of the test animals used.

Fasting cage animals are taken & dosing is accomplished with the help of stomach tube.

Lower the LD/50 the greater the toxicity.
