Speaker - Luke Kennedy

The theme of last week’s Horse Wisdom session was Feelings. The students learnt about the four main feelings, ‘joy’, ‘sadness’, ‘fear’ and ‘anger’, and how to identify these feelings.

Yesterday afternoon, staff members from a number of schools within our Namoi Partners group came together to listen to Luke Kennedy talk about how he beat stress. The talk was very motivational and carried the message that everyone needs to be a little selfish and look after their mental health. Staff from all schools walked away with some simple ideas to help reduce the stress in their lives.Luke is an amazingly motivational speaker with a very interesting life story. If you have the opportunity tonight to come to the High School and hear Luke's story, you will not be disappointed.

Attention: Parents/CarersKINDERGARTEN 2019

We are still taking enrolments for 2019 and gathering any missing documents for

enrolments already received. If you know anyone starting Kinder in 2019, please ask them to contact our

office. If you have enrolled your child and been

asked to provide further information, it is important that we get that information as

soon as possible.

Today we were very fortunate to have Luke Kennedy speak to all our primary school students. Luke's enthusiasm was contagious and his message was strong - "be yourself, don't listen to the doubts that creep into your head and labels that others put on you", " trust in yourself and only choose to do what you want, not what others think"All students were enthralled with what he had to say and hopefully took away the very strong message, that you can do whatever you want to do as long as you "choose you" and believe in yourself.Don't forget that he will be speaking at the High School Hall for all Public School parents on Tuesday evening at 6pm (no cost). His message is powerful and one that we all need to hear.

This week, our focus for PBL is on being respectful by controlling our reactions. We have learnt about why we find it hard to control our reactions and what strategies we can use to help with this.

FREE PARENT EVENING With

LUKE KENNEDY

20TH NOVEMBER 6pm at the High School

Come along and take the opportunity to hear one of Sydney’s best motivational speakers

LUKE KENNEDY

────

On the outside he looked strong and confident, on the

inside his thoughts would come to haunt him. He was

incredibly scared, depressed, anxious, and

awkward in social situations. Luke always worried what other people thought about

him which led to him committing some harsh acts

and missing out on many positive opportunities.

────

He opens up the audience’s eyes, and mind, to their ego – to the labels that we battle to live up to, and relates his story back to some of the

masks the audience would be wearing. He then shows

how these labels, and worrying what other

people think, is ruining our relationships, following

through on ideas (it could be as simple as not making

those crucial sales calls, or not putting your hand up in

class), happiness, and success in every area of life.

Becoming aware of ones ego and labels, is the first

step towards releasing it.....

Supervision before SchoolDue to an increase in community concern, it is necessary to remind parents, carers and students

that there is no supervision at school until after 8:30am in the morning. It has been reported to the school that students have been seen waiting for school gates to open in the streets surrounding

the school as early as 8am, where they are unsupervised and unsafe. We encourage you to please keep your children at home until adequate supervision can be

provided by the school from 8:30am onwards.
