Raising a child can be very difficult. Wesometimes forget that children need to learnhow to become adults from us and that theyare not little adults.

5 Ways to keep your child

Smiling:

•Ask your child if you can join her in herfavourite game. It will melt away yourstress too.

• Tell your child about a forgottenchildhood experience and your naughty

moments.



• Browse and find a piece of

craft/ paining/ writing done byour children and exclaim

“WOW !” as you appreciateit.



• Call your child’s friends over for a

quick evening party that can be setup in an hour which could include a

Give Children Appropriate Ways to

that you stick to them.

If your child does not follow your directions, be

There is a tendency to parent with themindset of getting a situation under control

as soon as poss e.We are looking for an immediate solution.

But this often results in children who feel

overpowered and not heard.If we parent in a way that keeps in mind howwe want our child to be as an adult , we will

be more thoughtful in how we parent.

As parents, we sometimes are quick

to judge our child's actions or choice

of words, that we do not hear theircries for love, attention, or help. We

should s ento their feelings, reactions, andopinions.



Try to understand their point

of view. Look at them when they aretalking to show that you are hearingtheir ever word. Put down that book,

turn off that television, stop what youare doing and listen!



Teach your child how to be

responsible, caring, a

characteristics within yourself. It's not too late foryou to do so.



We should treat our kids as ourequals and not as

subordinates. The "do as I

say and not as I do" mentalitydoesn't work.



It's true that many of us have to

work to provide our family withthe essentials. Your child shouldknow that they are important toyou. They should not have to

competeagainst your job. The positionand title that you hold and your

job cannot be passed on, but thelove, the traditions, and time putinto your family can be carriedthroughout generations



Respecttheir interests, do not down

play them as mediocre. Share in some of the

activities you enjoy. Become familiar with thecurrent trends. It may be a little different thanwhat you're used to, but that doesn't mean you

can't learn to at least respect it.What a SON thinks about his Father ! ! !



Love your child no matter what.

Never allow them to have a doubt in their mindsof your love for them. At times they maydisappoint you, anger you, or even disrespect

,

know that they are loved by you. No one isperfect, we've all made mistakes and will continueto. Shower those imperfections with love.
