What Do We Offer? How Do We Achieve This?

Longer lasting assetsOur clients’ vessels are managed to ensure longer operating lifetime.

Minimal downtimeA well-managed vessel will not incur technical off-hires or unexpected repairs and will spend more time at sea.

Vessel efficiencyGood management procedures and policies have a huge impact on the vessel’s running costs.

Higher asset valueProper maintenance standards ensure that our clients’ assets achieve higher prices in the second-hand market.

ComplianceOur clients are assured that their vessels meet current national and international standards and regulations.

Peace of mindOur experienced on-shore teams and seafarers offer the professionalism and knowledge needed to run clients’ ships in any environment and region.

Dedicated approachWe provide an individual approach to each client, with tailor-made technical and crew management solutions.

Performance monitoringWe make our performance measurable through Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and latest software for Voyage Reporting and Ship Performance Monitoring, and we honour our commitments.

Cost controlWe implemented stringent cost control procedures to prevent OPEX overruns, keeping actual costs in line with budget, according to financial commitments.

ExperienceWe rely on several decades of operational and management experience of our managing partners and key staff accustomed to working on ships of different types, sizes and age.

History

• SeaQuest Managing Partners have been active in ship management and marine technical consultancy since 1987, when Sebastiano and Vittorio Portunato founded Portunato & C. Srl.

• During the late 1990s we specialized in the management of OBOs, a complex type of vessel, reaching an overall deadweight capacity in excess of 700K DWT.

• From year 2000, after the decline of the OBO ships, our activity was mainly focused on crude oil, product and chemical tankers chartered to oil majors and traders and operating worldwide.

• During the years, we gained in-depth experience with other ship types, such as gas carriers, general cargo, container feeders, offshore support vessels, RO-ROs and bulk carriers; the last two have become our core business in the current decade

• We have grown internationally, with management service centres in Genoa, Rijeka and, recently, Singapore, keeping Geneva as administrative and commercial hub.

• We have representative offices in Beijing and Hong Kong for commercial and technical support.

• Since December 2014 we operate under the name SeaQuest Shipmanagement to develop a quality brand together with SeaQuest Marine Project Management Ltd, a Group company dedicated to new building projects.

• To overcome volatility in crew performances, we developed our own crew management services establishing a company in Rijeka, Kvarner Crewing Services, and a joint venture in Manila with Elburg Shipmanagement, a mid-sized quality crew manager.

Quality Management System• Our Quality Management System is certified in

compliance with ISO standard 9001:2015. • We have adopted a process approach for our

management system through the identification and individual management of top-level processes.

• The process approach reduces the possibility of nonconforming services: nonconformities and risks are identified and treated in real time, through actions undertaken within each top-level process.

Process: Controls and Objectives• Each process has one or more objectives,

identified by a statement of the intent of the process.

• Each objective is supported by at least one “metric” or KPI, measured to determine the process’ ability to meet the quality objective.

• We contribute with data from our managed fleet to BIMCO Shipping KPIs project.

Making performance measurable: Ship Performance MonitoringWe have adopted a new generation Ship Performance Monitoring System: a brilliant solution providing all the intelligence and analytics based on vessel data and baselines, and enriched with industry data, such as satellite weather, AIS or fueling sampling data.

The system gives to the ship owners the decision support and improvement levers along the relevant performance areas:

• Voyage performance• Hull & Propeller performance• Engine & Systems performance• Fuel Quality performance• Environmental performance

Vessel comparison, fleet benchmarking and market benchmarking are inbuilt, giving always a status of where the vessel stands and what the improvement potential is.

Crew Management

SeaQuest recognizes the importance of establishingthe strictest relation between the ship-owner andthe seafarers. For such reason, we established ourown crewing arm, under the brand Kvarner CrewingServices, and recommend our clients to employ theseafarers recruited by Kvarner.

Kvarner Crewing Services has recruitment officesin Rijeka (Croatia) and Manila (Philippines) inpartnership with Elburg Shipmanagement Phils. Inc.

We directly recruit Filipino, Croatian, Montenegro and Italian seafarers. We also recruit seafarers from Ukraine, Romania, Indonesia and other nations from trusted partners.

Our set-up is completed by high-level training centres in Croatia and the Philippines.

A growing pool of 650+ seafarers is rotated on SeaQuest managed vessels: all of them clearly recognize the ship-owner and SeaQuest as their employers.
