VGEC News Quarterly Newsletter, April-June 2018
Volume 4 Issue2
From the Principal’s Desk
Principal
Dr. R. K. Gajjar
Dear Students & Faculty Members, It is a matter of great happiness that second quarterly issue of VGEC News, 2018 is brought to
you. Outcome Based Education focuses on the skills and the results achieved by the student as
the most important aspect of education. This assessment, opportunities, and classroom
experiences should all provide necessary support for the students to achieve their goals. The
implementation of these processes gave birth to the Washington Accord(WA). The National Board
of Accreditation(NBA) is the signatory body that represents India in the WA. NBA undertakes the
assessment of quality standards, of various educational institutions. An institution has to go
through some steps in order to receive the accreditation. The purpose of the accreditation by NBA
is to promote and recognize excellence in technical education in colleges and universities—at both
the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Institutions, students, employers, and the public at
large all benefit from the external verification of quality parameters through the NBA accreditation
process. They also benefit from the process of continuous quality improvement that is encouraged
by the NBA’s developmental approach to promote excellence in technical education. I am happy to
announce that we are planning to apply for NBA Accreditation for seven of our courses which are
eligible. Hence, we have started continuous evaluation system at our institute for each course from
this year. There are too many variables with an examination to fully understand a learner’s
knowledge and understanding. Continuous Assessment allows the students to fully demonstrate
their knowledge and understanding. NBA and other accreditation bodies all over the world have
stated that Continuous Assessment is also a fairer method of learning for the student which doesn’t
put the student under an unnecessary level of stress and allows the students to showcase their
abilities in a much better way than just examinations. The assessment is aimed at diagnosing the
problem areas in the student’s development and not merely his/her academic results.
This campus has a lot of activities going on, and we hope you will participate in as many as
possible. This will enhance your overall development as engineers and improve the employability
quotient required by Industry.
Vision
To create an ecosystem for proliferation of socially responsible and technically sound engineers, innovators and entrepreneurs
Mission 1. To develop state-of-the-art laboratories and well-equipped academic infrastructure. 2.
