QUEBEC
When and where: August 28, 1775- December 31, 1775 Quebec and Montreal
Who? Philip Schuyler was appointed in charge.
He started slacking. Replaced by Richard Montgomery and
Benedict Arnold. One of them actually knew what they
were doing.
How? We took Montreal without much effort on
the 28th of November. Benedict Arnold’s team had faulty maps
and ran out of supplies. Originally they had 1100 men. Went
down to 600 by the time they got to Quebec.
How cont. Montgomery to the rescue! Brought 300 men to make 900. They split into two parties. One would
attack the north, the other to the west of the city.
The plan was to attack while moving along the St. Lawrence and St. Charles River. They would then eventually meet when the rivers converge and attack the city wall together.
Cont. The first shots of the British killed
Montgomery and his chief subordinates. The remaining officers were like “crap!” and retreated.
Arnold didn’t know that the attack from the west failed and pressed on until they were in the city.
The British now only having to focus on one target surrounded them and they all got pwned/captured.
Aftermath Americans: 60 dead and 400+
captured= fail British: 6 killed and 19 wounded= walk
in the park. Although the assault failed, they still
stayed there. Arnold tried to rally the men to attack again but the enlistments were about to expire. So everyone was like “Imma bounce”
Word.
Cont. Arnold would have stayed as he still had
some reinforcements but 4000 redcoats showed up so he ran to his mommy.
They ended up retreating all the way down to New York.
And that’s how the end of the invasion of Canada ended.

[something] canoes to [something] Pond, to reconnoiter and get all the Intelligence he possibly can from the Indians who I am informed are hunting there…”
