THIRTIETH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

OUR LOVE OF GOD IS BEST DEMONSTRATED BY OUR LOVE OF NEIGHBOR

Jesus underlines the close and inseparable bond between our love of God and of neighbor. Loving God is not simply a pious or cerebral act, but a lived reality, carried out in the events of daily life. It is our witness to the love of God that will draw others into the mystery of his loving presence in the world.

He said to him, "You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself." - Mt 22:37-39

ST. VINCENT de PAUL SOCIETY

In the this Sunday’s Gospel we find the truth that loving God isn’t merely a matter of fervor in our hearts, but that it must be expressed in doing good for the sake of others. This month through your gifts, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul was able to show that we indeed love our neighbors by assisting families, providing in food, for utility and rent bills, etc. Thank You!

ST. VINCENT de PAUL SOCIETY

CHRIS WILSON CONCERT

The Church of the Annunciation is bringing singer/songwriter Chris Wilson back for another concert! We had such an overwhelming positive response to Chris’ concert in April that ended in three standing ovations and left us wanting more, that we have booked another evening with him. His talent is tremendous. He won the hearts of everyone at the last concert. His faith is deep and genuine and is clearly evident in his music. If you missed the concert last time, here is your chance to experience the music of Chris Wilson. The concert is free, no tickets necessary. It will be held at the Church of the Annunciation, 7580 Clinton Street in Elma NY, on Saturday, November 11th at 7:30 PM. For more information please call the parish office at 683-5254

.JUST A REMINDER

Please inform the rectory when you are moving. If the envelopes are sent to your old address and returned to us, the post office charges us return postage for each pack of envelopes returned. If there is an error in the name on your envelopes, please call the rectory at 892-1746 so we can make corrections
