THE PRESENTATION OF THE LORD

JESUS CHRIST IS THE SALVATION PREPARED FOR ALL

NATIONS TO SEE

The feast of the Presentation of the Lord invites us to

celebrate the truth that Christ is the light of all nations, and the

long– awaited glory of Israel. As we celebrate God’s presence

among us, we are invited to reflect on our calling to bring his

redemptive light into our world.

Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother,

“Behold, this child is destined for the fall and rise of

many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be contradicted

– and you yourself a sword will pierce– so that the thoughts of

many hearts may be revealed.”

ST. VINCENT de PAUL SOCIETY

In the Gospel, we hear Simeon say to Mary: “...your

own soul shall be pierced with a sword—so that the

thoughts of many may be laid bare.”

Your generosity enables the Society of St. Vincent

de Paul to bring hope to parents whose hearts are

burden with worries and concerns.

saying Do Not Disturb?”

VOCATIONS

St. Paul reminds us that of all the gifts that God gives

to us, love is the greatest. How can we best show our

appreciation of what God has given us?

If God is calling you to a Church vocation, call Fr.

Andrew Lauricella at 847-5535. You can also check

out the “Priest of the Month” stories on our website —

www.buffalovocations.org!

NUTSHELL PHILOSOPHY

1. Plan ahead. It wasn’t raining when Noah built the ark.

2. “Pray” is a four letter word that you can say anywhere.

3. Prayer– Don’t give God instructions– just report for

duty!

4. The Will of God will never take you to where the Grace

of God will not protect you.

5. This Church is “Prayer Conditioned!”

6. To be almost saved is to be totally lost.

7. WARNING: Exposure to the Son may prevent

Burning.

8. Watch your step carefully! Everyone else does!

9. We don’t change the message, the message changes

us.

10. The work will wait while you look at the rainbow, but

the rainbow won’t wait while you do the work.
