WELCOME TO THE QUEEN’S THEATRE HORNCHURCHAND OUR SECOND ANNUAL REVIEW

2012-2013 was another successful year for the Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch:

• We took off with a new production of the much-loved Return to the Forbidden Planet written and directed by our own Artistic Director Bob Carlton.

• Our resident company cut to the chase… appeared in a further eight productions.

• Queen’s Youth Theatre celebrated its 21st birthday.

• We extended our offer to infants, launching our Baby Sensory Classes.

• We won the public vote for Best Hospitality in Havering Award at the 2012 Havering Business Awards.

In 2012-13 we saw the return of some old friends; and took on several new challenges. We presented Shakespeare’s rock and roll musical; a double-bill of John Godber; and fulfilled two long-held dreams in a new production of J M Barrie’s classic Peter Pan and a walk across the road to the beautiful Langtons Gardens for an enchanting open-air production of As You Like It.

We produced a new community musical Lighting up the Lane about the first Queen’s Theatre in Station Lane - performed by a cast of hundreds - and

associated with a touring exhibition of archive material unearthed by a team of volunteers.

And we welcomed our first apprentice stage manager and apprentice actor.

The economy and the funding environment remain challenging, but the “Diamond on the Green” has continued to sparkle, to surprise, and to delight you, our audiences.

The Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch has a long history of producing high quality, vibrant and critically acclaimed productions.

cut to the chase…, our resident company of actor-musicians, under the leadership of Artistic Director Bob Carlton, are supported by a dedicated creative team, in turn backed by production, technical, marketing and administration staff that all strive to make the Theatre a welcoming space for the whole community, with a highly professional offer of varied shows each season.

UNIQUE HOME GROWN PRODUCTIONS

The acting is first rate, the set and lighting are first rate...and the pace of the production is perfect.

Trip Advisor reviews

…..what a brilliant show! We were smiling from ear to ear and the cast seemed to be enjoying themselves just as much.

For a good night out at the local theatre, you will not get better than the Queens at Hornchurch, which is now in its 60th year.
