This document provides a summary of the reductions in commercial licences and fishery symbols that have occurred between 2004 and 2012.

It should also be noted that the figures provided for the number of fishery symbols as at 1 July 2006, are slightly underestimated due to several late renewals in that year. These late renewals were most likely associated with the change to charging fisheries fees in arrears.

As part of the 2009 ECIFFF Review Process, holders of the N6 and N7 fishery symbols were required to apply for an N11 fishery symbol if they wished to continue to sell bait (caught under these symbols). Through this process 323 applications for N11 fishery symbols were subsequently approved. As of 1 July 2012, there were:
