Question 2

Page 2: Question 2

The way I figured out what social groups I represent in my magazine, I first of all surveyed the public on hobbies, music they like, what they want in a music magazine, etc. But then I used C.R.A.G.S.

The class that my magazine is aimed at is working class. Although the audience is slightly to young to be employed, I think that their parents will have just the right amount of money for what they need, although not too much disposable income, which is why I have made my magazine fairly cheap and offer a lot of prizes.

I feel like I haven't exactly excluded any races throughout my magazine, although the race I represent is predominantly caucasian as that is the only race I have used in my images.

The age I will be representing is around 14 - 16, mainly on the younger side. The main reason I am deciding to include 16 year olds in my target audience is when I surveyed the public, there was only about 2 or 3 people aged 1 who said they'd be interested in reading my magazine, whereas there were a lot more 14 to 15 year olds who were interested

The magazine will be almost exclusively aimed at females, hence the feminine colour scheme and fonts, and the fact that my 2 main models are female. The only reason I decided to only appeal to females is because not a single male said that they would be interested in purchasing or reading my magazine; although I will try my best not to completely exclude them as I only surveyed 10 people which isn't a fair way of saying no males will ever be interesting in my magazine.

I think that my magazine mainly attracts straight people. The reasoning for this is that most magazines aimed at the same age group as mine tend to only appeal to straight people maybe because they think the target audience is slightly too young to have completely figured out their sexuality.
