Page 3: Question 2

The social group my music magazine represent.

My music magazine is a Indie music magazine and that would represent the social group of hipsters. As it shows through the fashion style my artist is wearing, the Mise-en-scene, colours, type of other artist included in text and font. Hipsters are generally categorised as young people and to keep up with the technological era of young people who are hipsters and young people in general I have included a QR code and website that they could use to access it quicker.

My magazine represents: Hipsters

Page 4: Question 2

In my readers profile my reader mentions some indie artist that relate to my music magazine and relates back to the social group where she would be categorised to be apart of because of some of the thins mentioned like her local hangout at ‘star bucks’ , where she shops and what type of concerts she attends which can be said to be hipster. My magazine is aimed at potential consumers like my reader profile and after finishing my music magazine, still is.

Page 5: Question 2

In my research before making my music magazine I had looked into the indie music genre and found out the fashion of indie fits the social group of hipster which have been shown through the Mise-en-scene: clothes ( checkered/floral shirts, sun glasses, head bands, flowers and guitar), make-up and accessories (bracelets and necklaces). Which all relate back to the hipster social group because it shows vintage, hipster style of fashion that fits in with my social group.

I have used poses that have been seen in existing music magazines below in: ‘Kerrang!’ and ‘Mojo’. I took a variety of poses of close ups, mid-shots, long shots, high angle and low angle shot to look very bold but relaxed and layed back, it presents the image of a strong individual who can take the pressures of the music industry and still be composed and relaxed and that's the kind of role model I want to promote to consumers and to address to my social group. These poses relate to my social group as they are generic poses you would find in other ‘Indie’ music magazines that aim to sell to the hipster social group. For instances you wouldn’t have an artist wear chunky gold chains and pose in a night club for a pop music magazines usually. You would expect to see that kind of stuff in a hip hop music magazine aimed at the hip hop social group.

Page 7: Question 2

The main fonts I have used are ‘Perpetual Tilting MT Bold’ and ‘ Segoe print regular’ as they have a handwriting and elegant look that fit in with Indie music genre and relates to my social group of hipsters as it’s clear and bold enough to read and is styled to look like the type of text found on Indie music magazine and is often associated with my social group. For example for Pop magazines and social group you would expect to see a type of font that’s bubbly, big and bold san serif to represent and reflect it’s genre.

The colour scheme also represents my social group of hipsters because of the usage of bright colours and pattern textures which are often associated with hipsters because hipsters usually wear bright or washed out warm colours or even cool colours with tints of warm colours which I have incorporated in my magazine as the arrows point out and that links to my social group.
