Target audience

We have decided that our target audience will be teenagersaged between 16-19. The reason are:

They are the most likely people to be “cinema goers”.

Our trailer is mostly promoted on the Internet and teenagersare also the most popular Internet users. They often usewebsite like Youtube, Imdb, etc to watch film trailers or films.

A low budget will affect the marketing and casting of thefilm. Therefore, if our film trailer target teenager, it will havea better chance to get to the audience.

By gaining the feedback from the audience, we can improvethe film trailer, the poster and the magazine cover and toensure that the products will appeal to the target audiencegroup.

We have done a

questionnaire for the a

group of audience,

including 13 people in the

target audience, to fill in

when they were first

shown the rough cut of

the trailer. Here are the

results:

1. All of them recognized the genre ofthe film.

2. 7/13 people said that the trailerdoesn’t show enough plot in order forthem to understand.

3. 5/13 people spotted that there is arelationship between the coin and theghost.

4. 4/13 said that the captions are notrelated and not clear enough.

5. As we haven’t added any sound,13/13 of them said that we should putcreepy and fast beat music in.

6. 7/13 suggested that we should putsome more effects between differentshots.

Changes from the rough

cut Caption: We have change the captions into a more

straightforward ones, which help the audience easier

to understand the film.

The order of different shots: We also change the

order of some of the shot and put a reverse clip of all

happened before the caption: “Everything happens for

a reason”.

Breaking down the reserve clip into small pieces:

We have also broken down the reserve clip into small

parts and then put the tagline: Everything happens for

a reason in-between them.

1. A better quality photograph is needed.

2. I should add more cover lines.

3. Change the font of “Possession”.

4. Masthead need to be more outstanding.

5. The barcode need to be bigger in order to be like in a real magazine.

Suggestion from the audience:

1. Put the logo of the film to make the link

between products.

2. The size of the website and the name of the

production company need to be bigger.
