What kind of media institution might distribute your media

product and why?

By Kofoworola Williams

The name of my magazine is “sliver and stone” – I chose this name by making a vote to my “Audience” on what name they would prefer.

I created a simple logo on my magazine so that like most other magazines I can have a symbol that is unique to my image

The role of my magazine is to give the latest news and updates on bands, music and tours on rock and metal bands.

Mojo Magazine’s production company is Bauer Media Group.

Bauer Media Group however don’t just own Mojo (music magazine) but also Kerrang and Q.

Seymour International Limited

Seymour International Limited are the distributors for Mojo Magazine.

Seymour International (SIL) is one of the main publishers for Britain and is 1 in 3 UK magazines sold overseas.

From the figures of Mojo Magazine on their readers, it seems like it appeals to men more than women since for the male readers are nearly (70%) and the women (30%).This shows us that Mojo main focus will likely be to the men.

MOJOIt also seems that the main readers in the age range are 45-54 at around (29%), closely by although is 15-24 at about (24 %) so around young adults. This shows that Mojo magazine hasn’t got a proper age focus, which in a way is better as it means more sales, which equals more money.

QThe figures show that more men than women buy this Magazine as Men readers are at (70%) while for the women it is only at (30%) this shows us just like with Mojo that their main focus will likely be towards men.

it seems for the age range that its mostly 15-24 who read Q at a percentage of 36% and coming second is 25-34 at a percentage of 26%. This shows that their main audience would be for young people shown by the fact that as the age gets older you see less readers.

Kerrang! For Kerrang! The gender ratio is really mixed, as men are at 55% and women are 45%. This is a very good thing because that means more sales, once more meaning more money.

The age range is similar to Q as it gets older it loses people but 15-24 for Kerrang! is a large amount as it is 56% of the of their audience. This shows us that they will likely appeal to 15- 24 as it’s mostly of their audience.

My magazine is independently funded.

This allows the my magazine to become more niche and unique.

I would fund my magazine by using Kickstarter.

I think that my magazine is very similar to MOJO as it has a similar dark kind of gothic style.

its main Audience is a mix of both young(16 - 30) and middle aged people like my own magazine and has a mix of males and females.

along with this it is also a rock, metal and punk magazine.
