Question 4How did you use media technologies in the

construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

Throughout my production I used many different media technologies to help benefit my construction through planning as well as to help provide a better final production. I used numerous technologies from software to websites to hardware to enable me to produce the production that I have. When I started my production I used Google to help me go on magazine websites so I could research their codes and conventions of the actual magazine and I also had to look at websites for when I was going to produce my own website for my magazine.

I also used YouTube to watch videos to help me develop my production. The videos I watched were tutorials to help with how to use a camera. I watched theses videos to make sure I could get the best quality photos.

These videos helped with working the camera- I was not very good at working the camera and could only remember a little bit from last year; so I watched these videos on YouTube to remind me; so I new exactly what I was doing.

So I watched these videos about lighting to help me learn about how to make shadows and light faces well; so then I could retake my photos with better lighting. The pictures below show the difference in lighting.

I used a program called Photo Shop to make my production and even though I used Photo Shop in my As production I still watched some videos on YouTube to make sure I was reminded of everything it could do, as I wanted to develop my production from As to A2.

This video helped me learn everything you can do with layers. This meant that I could use many layers on my production to create an effective magazine. The picture below shows all the layers I used. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4EooYoYYTQ This one is to help with changing hair colour http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANFwEjEPAJU This video helped to do very exact extracting. I had to do very exact extracting on the holly and this video helped me to do this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_ys54IbAtA

I also used sights on the internet like Facebook to keep in contact with my focus group. I used this because it is free to send messages and everyone in my focus group already had a Facebook account so it was an easy way to contact them. Using Facebook was also a lot quicker than arranging meetings with everyone to see them as it meant I could type out a question and they could answer it whenever they had enough time. Sometimes I would use my mobile phone to text or call people in my focus group. For example when I needed to give them a survey it was easier to call them and get a direct answer as to when I could meet them to give them the survey; but if it was just for questions I wanted them to answer, I would do it over Facebook.

I also used Blogger to publish my work. Blogger let me upload my work whenever I wanted to and it was very easy to use. The blog layout arranged my post in time line order, which shows the progress I have made throughout my project.

A way in which I presented my research and evaluation was through Slide Share, this website allowed me to embed a PowerPoint presentation into my work; to show some of the research and the evaluation which I had made. It meant I could make my power points look very stylish and make them easy to read.
