Question 4&5Who would be the audience for your media product? How did you attract/address your
audience?
WHOThis is Ella she is 17 years of age, single and works in
Topshop. Her favourite genre of music is rock and indie rock. She is most likely to listen to people like
George Ezra, James Bay and The 1975.
She is the sort of person who I would expect to be interested in buying my music magazine.
She enjoys going to concerts and music festivals, in the summer she went to v festival, going to roughly 10 concerts a year she really enjoys live music, the last concert she went to was James Bay in October.
DO I EXPECT TO BUY MY MUSIC MAGAZINE
HOWDID I ATTRACT MY TARGET AUDIENCE TO MY MUSIC MAGAZINE
The front cover is what the audience will be attracted to, therefore is used a picture of a ‘cool’ rock girl who is this new rock artist, having someone who is around there age- with my target audience being older teens and young adults- this will attract them to
want to read my magazine. I have also included lots of different rock artists which are very well known for the cover lines so then they want to read about there lives as
well. For my front cover I used ‘the top new rock magazine’ this will immediately attract rock
fans. The subheading for ‘Meg McLean’ -‘touring
with Ed Sheeran was the best thing that ever happened to me’ Ed Sheeran isnt exactly a rock artist but he has different range of fans, therefore will be a popular artist for my music
magazine cover, and a lot of other covers. The language I used in this was interesting
and will attract old teens and younger adults will be.
Front Cover
Contents PageFor the contents page I used simple
headlines, with just the artist name, I did a brief description of what's going
to be on the page so the audience know what to expect and think if they
want to read it or not.
For the article I used a question and answer. Thinking about my target audience this would be
easy for them to read and more likely want to read it. I used the type of language they would be used to, it is more formal than informal, I didn’t use slang or swear words. In the article she talks about social networking
sites which this age group know of.
