Question 5 – How did you attract your audience?
Transcript

1. Question 5 How did you attract your audience? 2. Primary Audience Our film is a love story that ends in sadness. We aim to attract our audience by focusing on their emotions to draw them in make them interested so we have made our main audience teenage girls because it is a similar genre to the films they typically watch 3. Secondary audience Our secondary audience is adult females. We have attracted them in the same way we attracted the teenage girls because women will typically watch the same type of films, despite their age gaps 4. Music We chose Salvation by Gabrielle Aplin as our music choice because it is a slow paced song that helps bring out the emotion of our film which would help attract our target audience. We had to find a cover of the song to avoid copyright issues however the cover still has the same effect we wanted 5. Questionnaire I made a questionnaire for our film opening to get some feedback from the people that had watched it, the questions varied so that we could get a wider range of data as apposed to sticking to one main focus point. 6. Question 1 Gender? The majority of people who answered our survey were female, this is good because this is the gender we want watching our film 7. Question 2 How old are you? The majority were between 16 20, this is very positive feedback because it is the age range we have targeted to watch our film which tell us that our advertising has worked 8. Question 3 Did you think the genre was clear? 57% said yes however we would want to increase this so that most people are clear on the genre so it is not as confusing which can sometimes make people dislike the film 9. Question 4 Did you enjoy the film opening? Only 14% of people said they didnt enjoy our film opening which is positive feedback because the film is specifically aimed at females so it isnt going to appeal to boys necessarily so I expected this result to be higher 10. Question 5 What did you like about our film opening? I liked the multiple angles of the photo album and I also liked the flashbacks to the seaside especially the scene where there's the 4 people at the sunset and all you can see is there silhouettes because I think it looks really nice and effective for the genre was the most positive feedback we received, other comments were similar to this 11. Question 6 What did you dislike about the film opening? Constructive criticism we received on our opening was that the sound quality was poor and that the camera work was jerky sometimes. I think this feedback is positive because it is things that can easily be fixed and isnt anything too bad. 12. Question 7 If it was made into a real film, would you watch it? 57% said yes which is what I expected because of the fact that about half of the people reviewing this film would have likely been girls which shows we have attracted our target audience and that we have achieved what we wanted in the opening. 13. Question 8 What would you do to improve our film opening? better sound quality and use a better tripod was the only feedback we received which was good because these were only problems with the equipment we used, not with the quality of our film opening. 14. Focus group responses Did you think our genre was clear? 15. Focus group responses Did you think the genre was and why? 16. Focus group responses Did you dislike anything about our film? 17. Focus group responses What did you dislike about our film? 18. Focus group responses What did you like about our film? 19. Focus group responses What would you change? 20. Focus group responses What would you do to improve our film? 21. Teacher Feedback 22. Analysis It was very clear what our genre was which is positive because the viewer wont get confused The only main criticism we got was that the doctors voice was a bit too happy however on the first draft the voice sounded too sad so we need to find the right tone for the doctors voice To make our film better we were told that more depressing music was needed to put an emphasis on the emotional side of the film.
