EVALUATION

During the production task, we had to use an array of different types of technological aids in order to construct the front cover, contents page and double page spread for our own article. Personally, I found some of them much easier to use than others; and this was purely due to having used some of them previously and some not at all.

PHOTOSHOP

Previously to doing this task, I had never before

used Photoshop and found it extremely difficult to

start with! Certain elements of the program

confused me due to their complexity and the fact

that I had no idea what to do or what any of the tools

were for. Developing through the task, I became

used to this software and was then able to

appropriately edit my images with ease through

following tutorials and via the process of trial and

error.

Page 4: Question 6

I learnt how to clone stamp an area of an image in order to

change certain elements to blend them into or fade out another. I

used this specifically on the image that I had chosen for my front

cover as it was needed to alter an imperfection on the back of the

model as well as erase people in the background of the image.

Through using a tutorial I learnt that the clone stamp tool

selected the colour from one area to overwrite the colour from

another. Here is an image in which I used the clone stamp tool

whilst trying to decide on which image to use for my front cover.

PREZI

Prezi is another program that I had not used before, I found this one

much easier to learn and pick up in comparison to Photoshop. This is

mainly because it is similar to Microsoft PowerPoint (which I have used

before). The idea of Prezi is to make a creative, exciting display which

is an alternative way of displaying and showing information. During

the construction of this progress I learnt how to form and adapt a Prezi

presentation to display information to post onto my blog. I then went

on to learn how to change the theme, colour and customise the

presentation to adapt it to fit the theme of my work and the task set.

Page 6: Question 6

Another helpful element that Prezi provides is that

it also allows you to import images of your own as

well as ones from the internet. This enables you to

be more creative and identify specific areas of your

work. The different technological elements on this

program are displayed on the left hand side, and at

the top of the page which also makes them easy to

find. I learnt about these elements on Prezi through

trial and error, as well as using my own initiative.

Page 7: Question 6

I used the program to display my front cover and

contents page analysis as it was an effective way of

incorporating all of the elements into one area that

are pleasant to read and easy to find. It enabled me

to also post the presentation onto my blog as another

media element to make it more effective and

creative. Similar software's such as PowerPoint

cannot do this.
