In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

FRONT COVER

I challenged the conventional way in which music magazine put a lot of content on their front cover, I feel that clean and simple front cover makes the magazine seem honest and inviting.

I used the conventional way in which magazines advertise free posters to help attract my audience.

I used the conventional way of putting colour to a magazine, I uses a constant colour scheme throughout my product to make the magazine more recognisable.

I used a conventional editors column on my contents page, which lets the reader get a small insight into what's in the magazine from a human point of view and who is making it.

CONTENTS PAGE

I developed the ever-growing convention of advertising a magazines social media pages and showed the reader directly and obviously on the contents page, I feel that a lot of magazines will start to do this in the current music magazine market.

I used the conventional way in which music magazine contents pages advertise their main features clearly.

DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD

I included a conventional mention of the photographer on my contents page, I feel that this makes the magazine feel more sincere and honest.

I developed a conventional end to an interview by having autographs from the artists, I feel this appeals directly to the audience.

I developed and challenged the conventional way in which photographs are placed on a double page interview, I split my spread in half and concentrated on making one side look appealing and one look informative.
