NEW TECHNOLOGY: ADOBE PHOTOSHOP ADOBE INDESIGN ADOBE PREMIERE PRO DSLR CAMERA HD VIDEO CAMERA BLOG YOUTUBE
The DSLR Nikon D60 camera I used for taking photographs of my models helped majorly, as the portrait function on the camera
allowed me to focus just on my model, as other functions on the camera feature too much background imagery, and do not focus
on my model.
Taking photos on this camera was simple, and the cameras themselves are easy to use.
Photoshop allowed me to edit my images, to ‘perfect’ them in many ways regarding lighting and the removal of blemishes
on the image. I was also able to arrange the layout of my front cover. Using Photoshop, I removed certain things from my model such as facial imperfections (spots), a chin piercing,
excess facial hair, buttons from clothing and blur around my model’s baseball cap. I did this using the clone stamp tool. All of these elements if left, would negatively affect the quality of
my photos, as I intended to gain an entirely aesthetically pleasing image; especially to use on the front cover of my
magazine.
This is my models mouth- I removed a chin piercing with the clone stamp tool.
InDesign enabled me to form a layout for both my double page spread, and my contents page. Without InDesign I would not have been able to correctly produce an ordered layout for my
content, nor would I have been able to move images into correct positions.
Youtube enabled me to upload videos straight to my blog.I did not however, use it to gain research.
I have learnt alot about the technologies I have dealt with over the time of my production. I believe that PhotoShop, Indesign and the DSLR camera were the technologies that benefitted
me the most significantly, as without them, my product would lack a precise layout, I would have been unable to edit
imagery-making them imperfect, to craft my own style when applying and testing new fonts, colour schemes and text size.
Using Blogger helped significantly in the production of my magazine. It allowed me to publish posts whether they were complete or not, and allowed me to edit them whenever necessary. I was able to upload videos and
PowerPoints on to my blog, as well as adding images and changing the size of them in order
to make them fit into the posts well.
