7. With my preliminary task I had to create a school magazine and contents page. To be perfectly honest I didn’t do so well because of my awareness about different programs such as Adobe Photo Shot, (This program focuses on changing the appearance of Pictures.) Adobe Illustrator (This program focuses on creating mastheads and strapline texts.) However throughout this project I have learned a lot more about the different effects to improve attributes of my magazine such as the masthead, main image fonts and colours. Because I wanted to link my school magazine cover to my actual school (Hamstead Hall Academy) I actually wanted to use the 2 main colours of dark blue and yellow which would help me represent audience of Hamstead Hall Academy. However throughout the rest of my project I wanted to make my work look different compared to the different magazines which I researched targeting the same particular audience. By using more natural colours such as red, and white it allowed me to make my media products have a professional finish which could relate back to the city where most of my targeted audience are located. I also started to experiment with different images, effects and colours which helped me develop my skills for using different Adobe software. Overall I think I have learned different methods and skills such as camera shots and angles, e.g.(Establishing shots, close up shots) editing e.g. (Image editing and using bevels to improve the look of my straplines) skills and media knowledge”, which has helped me progress throughout this media project’s have produced better pieces of work compared to the beginning of my project .
