1) Movable joints and 2) Immovable joints.

9. What are movable and immovable joints ? Give examples.

A. Joints which allow movement are called movable joints. e.g. : Hinge joint, gliding joint,

ball and socket joint and pivot joint. Joints which do not allow movement are called

immovable joints. e.g : Joints of Skull.

10. How many kinds of muscles are there ? What are they ?

A. Muscles are mainly of three types. They are : 1) Voluntary muscles, 2) Involuntary

muscles and 3) Cardiac muscles.

11. How do muscles work ?
