Installing Your Program and Data

Local administrative privileges are required for installation. If you do not have administrative privileges for the computer, contact your help desk. Close all programs when installing this software.

To install your program and data

1. Insert the DVD into your drive and follow the on-screen directions.

2. When prompted enter your program Serial Number and click Apply.

3. Enter your information, and then click Next.

4. Select the programs to be installed if there are more than one.

5. When prompted read the License Agreement, and then click Yes.

6. Accept the defaults and click Next.

7. If prompted, reboot your computer, or click Finish.

Updating Your Program and Data

To update your program and data

1. Insert the DVD into your drive and follow the on screen directions.

2. When prompted select Update, and then click Next.

3. Accept the defaults and click Next.

4. If prompted, reboot your computer, or click Finish.

NOTEIf you have current program serial numbers (installed programs) and you add a new serial number for a new program that is not currently installed, the DVD will ONLY install the new program. You will need to reinsert the DVD to get updates.

Uninstalling Your Program and Data

To uninstall your program and data

1. Insert the DVD into your drive and follow the on screen directions.

2. When prompted, select Add/Remove programs.

3. On the Add/Remove dialog box clear the check box to remove the program and data, and then click Next.

You can also uninstall using Windows > Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs.

Configuring the CDA and Downloading Data Client

The CDA service is only used on specific Jeppesen programs. If your program does not use the CDA service, you will not see this step.

The CDA service runs continuously as a background process and connects remotely to the Data Distribution and Management (DDM) web service. This service is used as a method of updating your data to keep it current.

To open the CDA Service Monitor right-click the CDA Service Monitor icon and click Open.

To configure your CDA Service

1. Accept the default location for CDA, and then click Next.

2. Enter your UserID, Password, CompanyCode, RecipientName, and ServiceURLthat you received from your account manager.

3. Click Register. You will see your Registration status change to Registered (verified). If you receive an error, check the information you entered in the previous step.

Loading Updated Data

When updates are available you will be notified by a message in the taskbar. ClickFile > LoadDatatoinstalltheupdate.

Configuring the CDA and Downloading Data Client on a Server

To open the CDA Service Monitor right-click the CDA Service Monitor icon and click Open. Use the following steps to configure your CDA Service.

1. Click the DDMConfig tab.

2. Enter your UserID, Password, CompanyCode, RecipientName, and ServiceURL that you received from your Jeppesen Account Manager.

3. Click Register. You will see your registration status change to registered (verified). If you receive an error, check the information you entered in the previous step.

The client computers will poll the server and check for updates. To force updates, click the Settings tab, configure the time to force the update. It is important to note that when the client computer is updating data, the application is shut down, so schedule a time when an outage is acceptable.

Sharing the Server

After you have finished installing the CDA Service you must set up a shared folder on the server that points to the Jeppesen folder.

1. On the server, right-click the following folder: [drive]:\Jeppesen\cda\share\ and click SharingandSecurity.

2. Click the Sharing tab, click Sharethisfolder and set the share name to cda_share.

3. To set a user limit other than the default MaximumAllowed, click Allowthisnumberofusers and specify the maximum number of concurrent users.

4. To specify which users may access the shared folder click Permissions.

5. Select users or groups of users to grant access.

6. Under the Allow column, select the Change and Read check box for each user or groups of users accessing the program.

Using a Proxy Server with the CDA Service

To set up the CDA service to connect through a proxy server, do the following.

1. Open the CDA Service Monitor by right-clicking the CDA Service Monitor icon and click Open.

2. Click the Network tab.

3. Select UseanHTTPproxyserver.

4. Enter the host name and the port.

5. If required by your network, select Authenticationrequired, and enter a username and password.
