1.2.1 S2300/S3300/S5300 IntroductionThis section describes S2300/S3300/S5300 models.

Table 1-1 describes S2300/S3300/S5300 models.l P: indicates that uplink ports are SFP optical ports.l T: indicates that uplink ports are RJ45 electrical ports.l TP: indicates that uplink ports include both electrical ports and optical ports.l C: indicates that uplink ports can be configured as required.l AC: indicates that AC power supply is used.l DC: indicates that DC power supply is used.l S: indicates optical ports.l PWR: supports PoE.l SI: indicates the standard version, supporting basic features.l EI: indicates the enhanced version, supporting certain advanced features.

The number of uplink ports can be 8, 16, 24, or 48. The S2309TP-SI is configured with eightdownlink ports and one uplink port; The S3352P-EI-24S is configured with 48 downlink portsand four uplink ports. Among the downlink ports, there are 24 electrical ports and 24 opticalports.

4 Modeindicator

- Off The service interfaceindicator is in defaultmode, that is, the interfaceis in STAT state.

On The service interfaceindicator indicates thespeed of the interface.After 30s, the serviceinterface indicatorautomatically restores tooff.

Blinkingorange

The service interfaceindicator indicates the PoEstatus temporarily. After30s, the service interfaceindicator automaticallyrestores to off.

As shown in Figure 1-3, 5 shows the mode switching button. On an S2300, you can press themode switching button to switch the display modes of interface indicators. The status of a modeindicator represents the display mode of the related interface indicator. Take the S2309TP-PWR-EI for example. When you press the mode switching button for the first time, the mode indicatorturns green and the related interface indicator enters the speed state. When you press the modeswitching button for the second time, the mode indicator turns orange and the related interfaceindicator displays the PoE information. When you press the mode switching button for the thirdtime, the mode indicator restores to the default state, that is, off. If you do not press the modeswitching button for 30s, the mode indicator automatically restores to off.

The following table describes the meanings represented by the statuses of interface indicatorsin different modes.

As shown in Figure 1-5, No.5 shows the mode switch button. On an S3300, you can press themode switch button to switch the display modes of interface indicators. The status of the modeindicator represents the display mode of interface indicators. Take the S3352P-PWR-EI forexample. By default, the mode indicator is off and the interfaces are in the STAT status. Whenyou press the mode switch button for the first time, the mode indicator turns green and theinterface indicators indicate the Speed status of interfaces. When you press the mode switchbutton for the second time, the mode indicator turns amber and the interface indicators indicatethe PoE status of interfaces. When you press the mode switch button for the third time, the modeindicator turns red and the interface indicators indicate the Stack status of interfaces. When youpress the mode switch button for the fourth time, the mode indicator restores the default status,that is, Off. If you do not press the mode switch button for 30s, the mode indicator turns off.

The following table shows the meanings represented by the status of interface indicators indifferent display modes.

PoE Off The interface has no remote powersupply.

Green The interface has remote powersupply.

Blinking green The possible causes are asfollows:l The power of the power-

receiving device exceeds theset threshold or the powersupply capacity of theinterface.

Stack Off The stacking ID of the memberswitch is not the number of theinterface in the Off state.

As shown in Figure 1-7, No.5 shows the mode switch button. On an S5300, you can press themode switching button to switch the display modes of interface indicators. The status of themode indicator represents the display mode of interface indicators. Take the S5328C-PWR-SIfor example. By default, the mode indicator is off and the interfaces are in the STAT status.When you press the mode switching button for the first time, the mode indicator turns green andthe interface indicators indicate the Speed status of interfaces. When you press the modeswitching button for the second time, the mode indicator turns amber and the interface indicatorsindicate the PoE status of interfaces. When you press the mode switching button for the thirdtime, the mode indicator turns red and the interface indicators indicates the Stack status ofinterfaces. When you press the mode switching button for the fourth time, the mode indicatorrestores the default status, that is, Off. If you do not press the mode switching button for 30s,the mode indicator turns off.

The following table shows the meanings represented by the status of interface indicators indifferent display modes.

Device Installation Checklist

CAUTIONBefore power-on, all the power distribution cabinets and power distribution frames must be off.

Table 1-13 describes the device installation checklist.

1.5.3 Logging In to the Web System ClientBefore configuring the switch, you must log in to the Web system client.

Contextl Before logging in to the Web system client, ensure that the switch has been commissioned

and the Web system server is enabled.

NOTE

For operation procedures of enabling Web system server, refer to "Starting Web System" in theQuidway S2300 Series Ethernet Switches Configuration Guide - Basic Configuration.

l The Web system client connects to the switch through HTTP; therefore, you must log into the Web system client through HTTP.

l The Web system client supports the Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 (IE6) and Firefox 3.0,or later versions. The Web system client described in this document uses the IE6.

Procedure

Step 1 Open IE6.

Step 2 Enter the universal resource locator (URL) of the Web system client in the address bar and pressEnter. The User Login dialog box is displayed, as shown in Figure 1-13.

The URL is in the format http://IP/view/login.html, for example, http://10.164.19.131/view/login.html.

Step 3 Enter values in User Name, Password, and Verify Code.l The local switch provides a default account. The user name and password of the account are

admin.l To create, change, or delete user names and passwords, choose Security > AAA > User.l If your user level is 0, you can view only the Ping and Tracert pages after logging in to the

client.

Step 4 Choose a language, for example, English.l The Web system client of the current version supports Chinese and English.l After logging in to the client, you can select another language from the Language drop-down

list on the top right corner of the page.

Step 5 Click Login.

NOTE

If you select Save my password before clicking Login, you do not need to enter the password at nextlogin.

After you log in to the Web system, the main page is displayed. For details about the main page,see Window Layout.
