1. Near-to-Far transformation at the fixed angle (also with symmetry) Starting with the version 7.0 of QuickWave-3D there is another postprocessing allowing the far field radiation analysis, called NTF at Fixed Angle (NTFFA). Sometimes, especially in radar applications, our aim is to control the shape of the pulse as well as its spectrum in the far zone at the particular direction from the transmitting antenna - rather than the radiation characteristic over a range of angles, at a few fixed frequencies. This would be very time-consuming to obtain with NTF transform described in the Section 2.3.1 of the User Guide since it performs a Fourier transform of the electromagnetic field at the NTF box followed by near-to-far transformation in the frequency domain. To the contrary, NTF at Fixed Angle performs the near-to-far transformation in the time domain, directly from the time-domain fields at the NTF box. The far-field results is then Fourier-transformed. The NTFFA postprocessing may operates with magnetic and/or electric symmetries in -X -Y and -Z direction.

3. Improvements in View Envelope window for time domain signals (time shifts, multiple

files displayed in one window) For time domain signals we have variation of the selected component in time at a particular point of the circuit. We must specify X-coordinate, Y-coordinate and Z-coordinate of the point in the Position & Parameters dialogue. View time scale in the same dialogue sets how many time samples will be displayed in the window (and these displayed samples will be saved to *.de3 file upon the following Setup-Save As command). Save time scale set to N iterations, for N>0, causes that the next N samples will be remembered and saved to a *.tpd file after N iterations. If the Repeat option is checked, further samples are also saved in batches of N, to files with consecutive *.tpd1, *.tpd2, *.tpd3,… extensions. All these files are temporarily saved in a sub-directory created in the project directory, and named with the project name, followed by the component name, followed by the system date at the moment of creating the sub-directory. Thus the history will be available as long as the present View-Envelope window is open. If the Temporary TD directory option is set, then this time domain directory is deleted when the window is closed. If the Permanent TD directory option is set, then the time domain directory remains on disk after the window is closed. The choice between Temporary TD directory and Permanent TD directory can also be made via the Setup-TD Directory options. Change View Iterations menu is active in windows open via View-Saved Envelope command and loaded with one of consecutive project_name.tpd, project_nam.tpd1, project_name.tpd2,… files. Such files are created via Save time scale settings and contain consecutive batches of N time probes. Operations on these files can be done by using the following commands: • Next switches to the next batch of time probes • Previous switches to the previous batch of time probes • Add Next adds the next batch of time probes to the current display • Add Previous adds the previous batch of time probes to the current display • Del Right deletes the last on the right batch of time probes to the current display • Del Left deletes first on the left batch of time probes to the current display • View All displays all time probes, from all *.tpd, *.tpd1, *.tpd2,… files in the sub-directory 4. Improvements in View Results window Multiple markers Markers functions allow adding, deleting and managing multiple cursors in the View Results window. The following functions are available for the marker: - Follow Max – the cursor will be searching for the maximum value of the curve each time the display refreshes. The marker name will be e.g. M1max - Follow Min – the cursor will be searching for the minimum value of the curve each time the display refreshes. The marker name will be e.g. M3min

- Fixed At – the cursor will be constant at point corresponding to the domain value selected from the list. The marker name will be i.e. M2fix Delta markers The Delta Markers functions can be added via Delta Markers dialogue. It allows defining the operations between markers for the selected visible curve. There are four operations allowed: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division The delta markers are displayed in the legend in the form of: |S11| M1-M3=-4.3500 | 0.830266 The |S11| is the name of the curve; M1-M3 is the operation (subtraction in this case) between M1 and M3 markers, -4.3500 is the result of the domain subtraction (in this case, separation of the two cursors in frequency) and 0.830266 is the result of the values subtraction (in this case, the difference between |S11| values at the two cursors). The | is the separator between domain and value operation results. This text is displayed with the colour corresponding to the curve colour. If Delta Markers are defined for the visible curve and then this curve is hidden, the delta markers show NA (Not Available) result. Labels Labels functions allow adding, deleting and managing additional user texts in the View Results window. Add Label – adds additional user text (called label) to the display and opens Label Options dialogue. The label can be moved by pressing left mouse button on the label (selection indicates the border around the label) and move it to the new position. The label context menu can be accessed by pressing right mouse button on it, and contains the same choices as in the Labels menu of the View Results window. Saving self explaning picture The display of the simulation resultsbe saved as a picture in *.bmp or *format. Multiple markers, delta maradditional labels and cursor pane areincluded in the picture.

5. QW-OptimiserPlus improvements Grid Search available for FD-Probing and Antenna Pattern Objective Starting from version 6.5, it is possible to acquire the licence for the Grid Search option without the licence for the complete QW-OptimiserPlus. The Grid Search is performed on a fixed pre-defined grid, irrespectively of the Objectives settings. However, settings in the Objectives decide on the type of results being displayed during the Grid Search process and saved in cache. Since the Grid Search and Optimise regimes use the same cache, the results accumulated during Grid Search will be useful for further automatic Optimisation. Starting from version 7.0 Grid Search is also available for FD-Probing and Antenna Pattern Objectives. Grid Search and Optimisation now possible with Prony MUse Prony ModOptimiser dialogue allows using of Prony Module in the Optimisation. This option is available only if the Prony Module licence is active. After checking it, the Prony button is available and it opens the Prony Module Settings dialogue, where the user can set parameters for Prony Module. Note that there is no need to additionally make the Prony Module settings in QW-Editor, and if such settings are made, they will be ignored during Optimisation. OQW-OptimiserPlus hin one text file. Objectives defined directly in the Optimiser-Configure dialogue may also be saved to such text files, for further use in other projects or for creating format templates. The format and syntax are as follows: Symbols ! and # at thebeginning of a new Sub-Range. The actual data are listed in 2, data in the file. The meaning of each column must be constant within each Sub-Range (and in most cases, it is constant throughout for all Sub-Ranges the file).

Optimisation or Grid Search in a batch mode Starting with version 7.0, it is possible to set up a batch job for making several consecutive runs of Optimisation or Grid Search. Messages informing that QW-OptimiserPlus works in the Batch Run mode will appear in the Optimiser Info tab of the Simulation Log window. 6. New hardware accelerated simulator QW-AccelSim QWED is launching an evaluation version of QW-AccelSim – hardware accelerated version of QW-Simulator running on Acceleware hardware card. QW-AccelSim has been found to provide speed-ups by approximately a factor of 16 (for dielectric resonator example with 20 Mcells). he purpose of this evaluation version is to double-check our speed-up observations for a wider range of examples of direct interest to our users. Your feed-back in this regard will be appreciated.
