QUILTERS’ CORNER NEWSLETTER
AUTUMN 2015 9792 B BUSINESS PARK DRIVE, SACRAMENTO, CA 95827
916-366-6136 website:quilterscornersac.com
Our facelift is almost over. Hurray! The braces are off the building and everything looks
new and shiny. . So come on down and do not be fooled, we are still in the same place as we
have been for the last 15 years!
Yes, we are again doing our bus trip to PIQF on Saturday October 17th and there are
still a few openings. If you have been before, you know how much fun it is. Bring a friend,
shop until you drop and nap on the way home. You rest and have fun, we do all the hard
stuff.
We will be having an After Thanksgiving and Small Business Sale again. The dates are
Friday and Saturday November 27th and 28th. Everything on the floor will be 20% off.
This will be a great opportunity for you to shop for those last minute Christmas gifts and
supplies .
We have a new club starting in October on the first Saturday. Donna Dale will be the
instructor. We have ordered an entire line of fabric from Windham called Kindred Spirits
exclusively for the group. They come with a fun set of patterns designed especially for the
fabrics. These will only be offered to the club participants. The colors and designs are
from the mid 1800’s and are reminiscent of the era. Get in on the ground floor and sign up
now.
By request, we are branching out on our fabric choices from traditional to modern. One
example is a new line from Moda called Zen Chic. It has very clean lines and an urban vibe.
It is feminine, but has strong colors and a dynamic design typical of the German designer.
It comes with a collection of background fabrics in hues of white, cream and linen that
have fabulous prints of newspaper, architectural designs and hand written prose.
As usual, our batiks are exploding off the shelves. They cannot be contained, so they
Sometimes end up on our sales benches. You need to come in frequently to catch these
excellent sales!
Kaffe Fassett has grown in popularity. Many of our loyal quilters have asked for more so
we have responded. We will be ordering double our normal bolts and expanding the Kaffe
section to accommodate our customers. We hear you!
No, we have not forgotten the traditionalist. We still specialize in 1800’s and have acquired
an ever expanding section of civil war fabrics. Of course we have many samples and pat-
terns to give you inspiration as to how to use these wonderful fabrics. We also have tons
of wool in squares and on bolts, and lots of embroidery threads including Valdani, DMC, and
Cosmo. Wool has become a big thing at Market and at the latest shows.
Come in and meet the teachers and see the new samples for classes at our OPEN HOUSE
on Sunday, October 4th, from 12- 4 P.M. Looking forward to seeing you all. — Elaine,
Pat, Carol, Pam, Dawn, Diane, Donna, Lindsay, Ellen, Patty, Debbie, Peggy, Diane, and Jean.
