Meet our newYouth & Family DirectorI am so excited to join the Quincy YMCA as the Director of the Youth and FamilyDepartment! As a parent to two small children and a veteran of the YMCA, it isespecially exciting to me that the Quincy Branch is placing a focus on expanding

and improving the programs available to our loyal family members. Since 2004 I have held leadershippositions running Youth Sports, Camp, Child Watch (Babysitting) and Child Care with other YMCA’s.

The Youth and Family Department is responsible for providing quality enrichment programs for childrenas well as providing their caregivers the time to workout and take care of themselves with the comfortof knowing their children are in good hands and enjoying constructive play and socialization. My ownchildren have been coming to the Y since they were infants and I am grateful for their connection tothis wonderful organization.

It is my passion to deliver QUALITY programming that benefits our members beyond just coming towork out. Please watch for new programs in Youth & Family, Birthday Parties and the Playroom,as well as updates to existing programs! And, please don’t hesitate to stop and introduce yourself tome, I look forward to getting to know our members!!

GermantownNeighborhood Center

Established in 1928, the South Shore YMCA Camp Burgess for boysand Hayward for girls are located on Cape Cod, just one hour southof Boston, and situated on over 300 acres of forests, meadows andsparkling freshwater ponds. Camp offers a variety of enriching pro-grams throughout the year appealing to all ages and interests.

Since 1982, the Germantown Neighborhood Center (GNC) hasbeen providing critical support services, needed resources, pro-grams and workshops to the youth and families of the German-town and neighboring communities of Quincy. Located within oneof Quincy’s largest public housing developments, the GNC serves acommunity of mostly low-income, single-parent households andworks with support and guidance from the South Shore YMCA toidentify and develop strategies to address community needs. Our youth programs give kids a safe environment where they cangrow and learn positive values that they will carry with for a life-time. Women’s programs are designed to get women out of thehouse and build relationships with other women who are in thesame situation. Childcare and dinner are often provided.
